Question on potential bug re: scenario selection

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

Question on potential bug re: scenario selection

Post by Jeff Lackey »

Is it not possible to stop in the middle of a scenario and select another one? I was playing the 1st Ukraine, stopped in the middle and wanted to switch to the full campaign to try something. I went back to start, selected Korsun, selected the full campaign, selected the options, then hit "start game" (not resume battle) and it just puts me back into the 1st Ukraine battle at turn 8 (where I left off.)

Assuming that I did something wrong I tried again - and again. I just could not get the game to switch to the Korsun campaign. Do I need to hold my tongue right or something? ;)

I think this is a bug and I am pretty sure that SSG are aware of it.

On a related topic, if I start a scenario and then choose to switch to a diferent scenario, I need to exit the game and then re-load the game.

It would be better to return to the man screen

Yeah, that was one of the first things I noticed as well - no way to switch to another scen (unless I missed something).

Silly....

hit the red button and select return to start. You do not have to exit the game at all.

The only down side to this at the moment is the random bug which will re-load the last scen you just exited from.

What do you mean by "random bug" - that bug is pretty consistent for me! ;) I have to shut the game down and restart every time I want to change scenarios due to the bug.

Some of can't avoid exiting the game - and will soon need instructions on the scenario editor :)
