..... wtf is going on?

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

..... wtf is going on?

Post by Betty Boop »

Hi there...

I'm sure Korsun Pocket is a great game... but that is pretty useless if we cant buy the game. I dont know what is going on with matrixgames, but this game is not available here, European Union. Looks like they dont want to make money.

I have been waiting for weeks... but no luck, not on stores, not on the web, not even on Amazon.co.uk... nothing.

Yes, in theory, we can order from US... matrixgames e-store ships to European Union, but with FedEx Overnight :-((( paying 43 bucks for s&h, plus the game $49.99, plus custom fees... more than $100? Sure, great game, but that is twice the fair price.

There are no excuses for this poor distribution other that also poor marketing and selling department. European Union is a market actually larger than United States, and a complete business blunder to ignore it this way.

There may be some hard to find sellers in Europe, or may be possible to find some warez copy... but wtf, we want to pay and matrixgames doesn't want to sell...

I give up... there are other games... if someone at matrixgames read this complaint, I hope it open his mind...

Regards,
Betty

Try Duchet.com for UK and European. I have found them speedy with delivery, and prices are standard.

Or you could just keep playing Europa Universalis II... Seriously, the distribution is not that great in the US either. I have not seen it in Best Buy yet, and only single copies in CompUsa and EB. I think these days the distributor has to pay the stores for significant shelf space, but I am just guessing... Someday, it will all just be downloads, no pretty boxes to look at...

Perhaps you should tell us where you are from so we could tell you where to get the game from. I had no trouble finding a local seller.

Yep, finding it in the US wasn't all that easy for me either. Neither Best Buy nor Media Play had it. I was planning on buying online 'til I spotted a lone copy at Babbages.

Does anyone know if it's sold in Finland?

Matrix Games has no impact on european distribution. You would have to complain to JustPlay (our european distributor for KP). From your email I take it you are in the UK? Then you can order directly from JustPlay too.

www.justplaynow.com

KP is out there in the stores in the UK, that´s what I know.

Betty Boop,

To repeat the msg above about justplaynow, if you check out http://www.justplaynow.com/(251gin45cfg ... index.aspx you see that you can order the game for £29.99.

And that includes S&H in the UK - rest of Europe is an additional £3.

I've got to admit that Matrixgames might want to put their resellers outside of the US somewhere on the ordering page, though...

Yes, at least here . I got mine from there although I might've also gotten it physically visiting the shop.

Amazon.co.uk do have it, I just looked.

It was also in all three "Game" stores where I live within a week of release.

I can confirm that Korsun Pocket is stocked by Game in the UK, and is due to go on the shelves of PC World.

It is available in all German speaking terriories.

Not in France yet but we are working on it.

Finland is supplied via our Swedish distributor.

It has gone to our Italian and Spanish distributors in small quantities.

Why don't the display directives in this forum work? I see [ QUOTE ] as text and not the proper format???

As regards UK availability, I have a feeling that sales have been a bit slow by 'mainstream game' standards. I have seen KP relatively recently in 'Game' but languishing in a 'bargain bin'. I doubt they'll re-stock sadly. Direct from JustPlay is probably the best bet for anyone in the UK wishing to acquire a copy.
