A Tough Choice...

Ageod’s upcoming strategy game España: 1936 covers the entire Spanish Civil War from 1936-1939. With more than 200 regions, cities, roads, weapons factories, weather types, factions and sub-factions it is one of the few games to ever examine the period.

A Tough Choice...

Post by Mac Linehan »

Gents -

Congratulations on the release of Espana 1936 - a subject that has always held my interest.

I was poised to purchase ACWII (another awesome game), and then you drop the bomb by releasing Espana.

A very tough choice between the two, eventually I will purchase both.

Well done, Ageod!

If you eventually purchase both, I would purchase AACW II first because it has been patched to a very good state alraedy with the 1.01 patch. I don't want to say that SCW has many bugs as I have not played it but let's be realistic a new game will always have SOME bugs so I think it's better if you start with AACWII and after you played that I'm sure the first SCW patch will be out[:D]

I'm glad I held off purchasing AACW 2, so I could get this instead. No offence to the AACW guys (and I'll probably buy it eventually), but España 1936 is a needed puff of fresh air.

Also, since this started out as a RUS mod, I'm hoping that means fewer bugs to be fixed.

As far as I know this is the only dedicated Spanish Civil War, so it is a better option now. I have purchased it and I will get AACW on Xmas.

I've bought AACW 2 (currently doing the tutorials as time permits) and am sitting on the fence for this pearl. Over in the AGEOD forum there's reports about a bug with buying replacements and some buttons missing - my guess is in short time this will be fixed. Either I purchese then - or just can't wait and do it sooner.

I purchased both. Each will be well supported. Just need to buy the period you like or, as I do, all periods.

A couple of years ago, HPS did a tactical SCW game for their Squad Battles series. Different scale altogether.

Gents -

Some excellent ideas; still undecided as to which one will be first.

No worries, will make the decision later this month.

T - didn't know that Espana started as a RUS mod. Loved Rus, but haven't played for a year. Will have to take a look and see what's new!

My thanks to you all.

For me it is very similar.
Exception, I will play tyred with Civil War II and then later buy España: 1936.
The setting in modern times is just too tempting. [:)]

So, the choice is not that tough!
