And so the French generals can have a decent luncheon during an invasion, they now got bunker garrisons to protect the border.
I hope 5(=Battalion) isn’t the maximum strength for French Bunker garrison. The Maginot Line should have stronger Bunker garrison with Regiment (strength=7).

PS Crème brûlée is served.

Bon! So here is the battle plan: first we attaque le dessert and then those disgusting Panzers!

@terminator:

The bunker garrison of any nation can be battalion or regiment sized. If you want to make them even tougher you can add two more companies and give them maximum entrenchment. I am tempted to make a special mesh for the Maginot line bunkers.

Shouldn’t we rework the model ?

There are strange things on the wings :

Its the IAR 80 and those things are bones, a feature in Lightwave (and most 3d packages) that is originally there to create skeletons that then are connected to meshes for animation.

In our case they are used as markers for the muzzle flash in a combat animation and are not seen in the game itself.

The IAR 80 plane looks much better now.

The IAR 81 could be interesting ?
The IAR 81 was a modification of the existing IAR 80 as a dive bomber was seen as a reasonable option, easier than designing an entirely new aircraft; as well as having obvious production benefits.
The result was the IAR 81, a minor change to the IAR 80A models that were then in production, adding a hinged bomb cradle under the centerline to throw a 225 kg (496 lb) bomb clear of the propeller (many dive bombers used a similar system). Delivery consisted of a shallow dive from about 3,000 to 1,000 m (9,800 to 3,300 ft) with the speed around 470 km/h (290 mph). Pilots disliked the aircraft, as the drag from the bomb cradle seriously hampered performance.

Fifty were ordered in mid-1941 but after 40 had been delivered, 50 kg (110 lb) bomb racks were added under each wing. The wing racks could also mount 100L drop tanks, allowing the 81 to be used as long-range fighters.

Hi terminator,

yes, the IAR 81 and most likely a variant for each plane will be included in 1.09.

Hi Ronald,

I found in my archives my scenario "Saturn on the Chir" which was well advanced.
I had a little trouble launching the scenario because it was done with the old version 1.07 but thanks to the Script Editor I managed to make it compatible with version 1.08.
In the original Panzer General 2 scenario there was one IAR 80 & one IAR 81 but to finish this scenario, I could use temporary the romanian german planes.

Good idea but I think it would have been a better idea to add the Renault R35 tank to Yugoslavia. I’m finishing the Belgrade 1941 scenario. Yugoslavs have very few units, only two (Infantry and Antitank (Yu Bofors 37mm)). After all the Yugoslavs received as many or even a little more Renault R35 tanks than the Polish (Poland ->50, Yougoslavia ->54).

Hi folks,

the mission looks great - i remember playing it back in the day...memories. [:)]

Anyway depending on how soon you want to work on this, i could see to it that you get a version with all you need for it. (all IAR versions with balanced values)

There is a historic error in this Panzer General 2 scenario which begins on November 18th, 1942: it is the Operation Uranus and not Saturn !
So my scenario will be called "Uranus on the chir" and not "Saturn on the chir" :

Polish 7TPjw :

It would be preferable to separate the name of this unit in two in this way: 7TP jw.
The designation 7TP meant "7 Tonne, Polish" (in fact its weight increased to 9 tonnes after the initial prototype).
It is to be noted that twin and single turret variants had no specific designations. In some modern books they are unofficially designated "7TP dw." and "7TP jw." (Polish abbreviations for dwuwieżowy – dual turreted; jednowieżowy – single turreted).

Hi folks,

updated the overview, now Poland has the R35 in her arsenal.

@terminator: thanks for the heads up - its changed in the units text, but i will not update the image for this. I also planned to include the dual turret version. Lets see if it works out.
