1.03

I wish to thank Jason, et al, for making the patch available before it;s release date next thursday. I have it already installed, and even after a cursory glance, I can see the tremendous amount of work that went into it.

I did notice one thing however, and I dont know is this was a deliberate design, or a minor flaw in the German OOB for the eastern front. I was goofing around with one of the Barbarrossa campaigns, and i noticed when i picked my formations, there were 3 XXIV panzerKorps MCS listed, all identicle....am a little curious as tio why that is? Also, for a panzer battalion, standard 41....issue....the 1rst company, the PZIIIF light company is short a tank platoon....the HQ platoon to be exact. I saw that the other companies had a 2 strength HQ platoon, but not the PZIIIF's. Any reason for this?

just curious.

Again thanks again for the hard work. It is definetely appreciated!

While the XXIV panzerKorps MCS maybe the primary listing, there are subtle differences within the structure; different divisions, different unit types within. (or should be! *laughs*)

Potential oversight, I guess.

After goofing around with the game a little more, I noticed another anomally. This time for west front. In Road to Germany, I recieved reinforcements, (As German commander), from a formation i havent seen before, they came in together, and loaded on trucks. I know they all belonged to the same unit as I had that tab highlighted on the menu. However, the unit was short on transport, as my 50mm AT gun had to hoof it to the battlefield, and a 2 SP truck ....was carrying a 6 sp PzGren platoon!!!!! I realize that 3sp of trucks are all thats needed for a 6 sp infantry platoon, but 2sp shouldnt work.

In fact, I have noticed various glitches with transport in several scenarios, too many to go into detail here. I am under the assumption that all artillery and heavy weapons have to have a 1 to 1 sp ratio to be carried, while infantry is a 2 to 1. Many times i see a 3sp artillery unit being carried by a 2sp Chevy truck or the like.

In any event, thought I'd give you guys the heads up!

Is anyone else noticing this glitch, or am I the only one?

I noticed this glitch a few times where units come on the board loaded illeagaly. Also in some cases in the DCG's it was a matter of matching up the right transport with the right size unit during setup which was kind of a chore and not always a perfect match.

Remember that the Beta team did not concentrate much on the WF OOBs for this patch. Although many of the WF OOB glitches were ironed out, this transport matching bug was not addressed. The effect on the DCG missions is minimal IMO, but I agree it should be fixed for 1.04.

I understand completely...however...whenever my unit come onmap as unloaded...i cannot load them up to move them and therefore they are useless. In most cases, they can walk to the battlefront....however, in the case of a 4 sp 75MM field gun being matched up with a 3 sp carrier, they are completely useless, I cant move them, or use them effectively.

Hopefully this issue will be addressed in 1.04.

In any event, this is a great game and i enjoy playing it.

Ooop's I almost forgot...

Are all US rifle Platoons in West front supposed to be at 4 sp's instead of the normal 6 sp's now???? Every time I play a battle in Road to Germany, all the US rifle platoons are at 4 sp's. (I play as German)

Only the US Parachute Infantry are 4 SP (the early versions had 2 squads), the US Infantry units are all 6 SP.

Jason,

After accessing the ubit OOB's thru the edit function, I went on a little hunt. Under platoons, for June 44 US OOB, rifle platoon44, rifle platoon44g, and riflr platoon44v are all 4sp units. So I guess that answers my question about it being normal....and that begs the question was this a deliberate design? and you are correct, parachutte is 4 sp's, but so are rifle platoon 44's.

This will be revised with the official release. I mistakenly reversed the rifle platoons and armoured infantry platoons.

I was under the impression that 1.03 was going to include the scenarios from the Project Blitzkrieg #1 disk from the Blitzkrieg Wargaming Club. I can not find any of them in the scenario listings. Was I mistaken or is this an oversight?

While I have only had a chance to glance at this update it looks awesome. At lot of work went into this upgrade and I want to thank everyone involved for their time and effort.[&o]

Sorry, no, they won't be upgraded and included until 1.04.
