PDF Manual edits

Post by rickier65 »

Not sure where I should post this, but in the event someone is responsible for the PDF manual, Please note that on p31, section 4.23 and 4.24, the images actually overlay part of the text, truncating the end of the text liines for those two sections. DIdn't really lose to much meaning, but is is more than just a couple of letters.

I'm slowly going through the manual, so far it is very very close to the EFII and West Front hard copy manuals I have. But it's been so long since I played this, I thought I'd go through it again.

Thanks,
Rick

I'll go ahead and add some items to this thread. I assume someone will take note and make official edits, at least if they think they are appropriate.

On page 39, 2nd paragraph, 2nd sentence (after the note on cavalry) in Doubletime movement section should read: A unit that begins it's friendly turn fatigued (an F is displayed in the unit's info box) cannot double time during that turn. The F icon is automatically removed at the start of any turn...

On pg 41, the table with visibility ranges for different conditions would be much clearer if each condition and corresponding range would be put in it's own line. I read it through 3 times before I had the correct ranges (I actually cheated and looked in old manual).

IF you guys want to note it....no biggie and everyone would know their playing campaigns--but in pdf manual--section 1.1--system requirements--manual reads--to play "battlefront" you need........

A couple of more edits for the PDF manual:

In section on 5.20, #2 on page 50: The paragraph break after "see Direct Fire Target Density....." does not belong there. (2nd paragraph)

In section 5.23 on digging in, page 55: The paragraph break after "...if it begins that player turn." does not belong there (nor does the period). (2nd paragraph).

I've gone through the manual up to section 13.0 The Editors. I probably won't go through the eidtors for a while now, as I dont expect to be doing any scenario editing for a while.

No offence meant by these notes, These are actually pretty minor and small number of errors.

Also, I've been reading the manual PDF that came with John Tillers Campaign Series, v 1.01. But I also have Talonsoft's West Front hardcopy manual in one room, for perusing, and Talonsoft's East Front II hardcopy in another room. In most respects the manuals are identical (there are some pretty minor differences, -- the main one being the discuasion of the Japanese in the JT's Campaign Series.

Also, I'd be more than happy to review any future manual revision drafts if that would help.

Thanks for updating this game!

Rick

Just a little thing but in the Terrain section, the Bocage description is incorrect, repeating the info for a medium bridge instead.
Cheers
