When you play a campaign are there any unit upgrades such as experience, combat stats or equiptment upgrade choices?
Thanks.

Yes. You gain "camping points" for killing the enemy in spectacular ways. You can spend these point to upgrade your core units.

Barthheart, thanks for your reply. Can you elaborate a little more on the upgrades on which you can spend the points?
Thank you.

camping points

Uh, I thought "camping" was what you did when you waiting for someone to shoot in Call of Duty multiplayer.

Seriously, the points can be used to heal a unit, increase it's morale, it's range, leadership, give it a support weapon, etc. Tanks can get better armore, increase rate of fire, range of gun, MG firepower. How's that!

No, my friend, it means sleeping in a tent. Usually outdoors. Often in the rain.

When do you get to spend the points? Is there an option before you start a battle? I ask because it just loads right into the battle for me never giving an option to select units/upgrades. Do you have to fairly along in the campaign before it occurs?

Exactly. We were trying to feed in the rules gradually.

I've only played the German side so far, does this mean the Russians don't get to upgrade?

The Russians get the ability to upgrade after about the 3rd scenario in the Russian campaign.
