Over at BGG someone asked Mark this question:

"Question : any news on Lock 'n Load, the computer game, that has been in development for ages ?"

and got this answer:

"Yes, the news is that is is flippin hard to make a computer game and rule a boardgame company at the same time. and write novels..."

Not sure what it means, but it doesn't sound encouraging ..

Thanks for reply. I mean....How hard is it to check in from time to time and just give people a bone...[&:]
I know that He i loaded down with crap, but He initiated this game and gave the hype....Now, what is the deal? Yes its continuing but may take more time....Or, No....sadly can not complete this daunting task and will have to shelf it. Who knows...Maybe get someone else to try and get the job completed. It is a very neat and exciting consept that I know gamers will enjoy.
Was really looking forward to this one....Damn

I know some might disagree [:)] but last thing I've heard was that Mark had only 1-2 persons working on it, and that they were progressing nicely but slowly. So me, I still have hopes, but it might take a while. [:D]

Part of the problem is the bar got raised way higher since this game first went into development. I am going to be cautious on this one.

Pretty much how I feel. In the meantime, there are plenty of other games to spend my time with. [:)]

Thx guys for the input. Sadly this game/concept should have had alot of people working on getting it to people quicker. It is a really neat concept that if not exploited timely...someone else will capitalize on his idea. I mean...who wouldn't want to play Real Boardgames on PC with interaction an the whole 9 yards ...lol. Please finish this game. :)

Keep in mind, every time you add another person to the project you just increased the costs of that project rather substantially. Now you need more sales to make money on it in the end.

But yeah, definitely looking forward to it when it's done. [:)]

Mike...please...you seem like a nice guy...don't get frustrated with this situation. We've gone through all of the phases in this forum and other forums as well. First hope, then surprise at how our questions are ignored, then annoyance, then outright anger at the smart ass answers from Walker, then arguments between the "true believers" and the sceptics, then the true believers stopped posting, then amusement at our own stupidity at believing that the project will *ever* be completed, then sarcastic and satirical posts, then resignation that we will never see it...and now just an occasional post to BS with the regulars.

This has been going on for about 5 or 6 years Mike. *Nothing* that you can do or say will change anything. Believe me, i've tried everything to get *any* kind of commitment, but no dice. As has been pointed out by another member of this group, this project is the lowest of Walker's priorities. So low that it could walk under a snakes belly on stilts wearing a top hat with plenty of clearance. (-: So let's get back to Memoire '44. Now *there's a game Major. (-:

Thanks Ed for the comments. You're right, but was hoping maybe if he couldn't finish the game he would atleast see if anyone was interested from other gaming industries that might want to finish the game. Atleast it would get done...this is to neat of an idea to give up on. Will keep hoping....but who knows ....we need to get a game of Memoir 44 going. Some good homemade scenarios on there...:)

Yep. It sure is a good idea Mike. That's why we've hung in there for as long as we have. Aside from the fact that the game may not ever be published, if it *is* published it might not be good. The graphics are already out dated and we have no idea if the system will work well, or for that matter if the AI will be worth playing against. We've invested quite a bit of loyalty and hope in this game with very little to base it on.

Yah, prob right Ed... [:(] Hey, was this game only a single player against the AI? Or, was it also intended to be played against another human player as well....

If I remember correctly it's supposed to be played both ways, but it's been such a long time since Walker has told us *anything* about the game that we no longer have any idea if it will be single or two player.

This reminds me of that old saying"it is possible to do one thing well, two things fairly well, or three things poorly" You have to set priorities and stick to them. I guess we know where LnL is on the priority list. Novels ? What in the world?????????

Quite a shame, as this game (based on old video shots) could be the next Close Combat series. You could always make for different fronts and battles. Could even have different times from modern to Civil War. Still holding out hope.

its the first one to release really, if CoH comes out first i suspect this forum will dry up and we can all wait for the budget sales for this game whilst ignoring pleas from Mark Walker to come and buy his game - see how he likes it
