Roads to Moscow scenario 2, Smolensk

Post by Vaevictis_386 »

Checked this out a bit, seems to work well. But two queries --

One German motorized infantry unit can only move a hex or so each turn. Is this intended or in error?

What's New for 3.4 states a fix to make non-cooperating units to take a penalty. The Luftwaffe in this scenario is set to internal support. So in most situations committing aircraft to a combat will reduce your overall assault effectiveness.

Does the above problem apply to aircraft assigned to generic combat support? If so, how is should one use the Luftwaffe profitably?

Greetings Vaevictis,
Welcome back to TOAW.
Thanks for your interest in Smolensk. Check which version you are using- it should be v4.1, which I posted on the forum a while back. If you would like, I would be happy to email you a copy. I believe I got those trucks out of depot maintenance for that motorized infantry unit, but let me know which regiment and I will double check. I see the Luftwaffe are now in Free Support.

Let me know how things go for you. Are you playing human vs Soviet PO? Although not strictly designed that way, all of my testing was done PO vs PO or Human vs Soviet PO.
It was designed using TOAW 3.4, Attrition Divider=14; Maximum Round per Battle =3.

Oops, that was the little 'glitch' I reported last year; A Rgt. of 10th Inf.Div/(mot) got one MP. I think it's fixed, as Rob said, in the latest version.
