Too Dark To See Details

Post by junk2drive »

I have an older CRT monitor. I noticed that the game overall was too dark to make out any details. I was able to lighten up things by adjusting the Gamma in my video card control panel.

If you look at POS screenshots at FGM and compare them to the ones here, you will see what I mean.

This may help with ID'ing tanks and such.

It's too dark on LCDs, as well.

Please add a brightness adjustment.

Combat Mission BB, and maybe the others, have a hotkey within the game for adjusting Gamma.

You could go with the good old FPS solution of PowerStrip, to force whatever gamma/brightness you want.

For Combat Mission I used PBEM Helper. The hotkey in CM seemed to change my desktop as well as the game. PH did not and I recall that it was a simple hotkey on/off.

That CRT finally got dark enough to replace. This one I didn't think was bad until my son came to visit and asked why I had it set so dark.

Good point j2d. How about allowing us to cancel the build bunker option if it accidentally occurs just like we can cancel moves then? That would solve the problem for me as well.
