just a stupid question....
which one is closer to ASL ??? I know we are in the "3d world" but we still have virtual dices rolls, LOS and so on....

BBC BA is IGOUGO on a square based map.

PCO is not available for sale yet but if you buy PCK on sale you will get PCO as a free upgrade.

PCO is WEGO on a 3D map.

Both games get compared to SL/ASL. I am involved with both and like them both. BA is not as serious as PCO but is a lot of fun.

thank you junk... I read a lot of your posts in the slitherine forum so I'm glad you replied so quickly....

there is a guy in the gamesquad forum tha has this phrase in the signature:
"BBC Battlefield Academy, for when you just want some ASL like action, but can't have actual ASL" [8D]

-WEGO or IGOUGO is not a big problem...
-for what I saw it looks like PC:0 is maybe closer to "real" simulation where BA is more abstract..but I read that BA is real fun to play...

since you are involved in both...how much of a scenario will YOU be able to do in an hour of gameplay with BA and with PC:O

BA should be easy to master...what about PC:O (on a 1 to 5 scale, BA is 1...where do you put PC:O ?)

hope you will give me a good key to clear my mind :)

PS one last question...do you think we will see West Front scenarios with Ostfront "modding" ?

If you only have money for one and have to buy it now, I would say BA. If you have a little more money get the BF expansion too.

PC won't be West Front with modding. To much hard coded to do that. I have however taken the LL Shermans and renamed them German units to fight against T34s as if the US kept on going after the fall of Germany.

A lot of us are hoping that there will be another PC title and it will maybe be West Front. Too early to tell.

junk (easy to type [:D])
good points BUT (there is always a "but") are there "tables" behind BA ?
reading this fb.asp?m=2564398 took me back to the long reading of the ASL manual...[&o]
then I saw this fb.asp?m=2566201 and this is really close to perfection as gameplay...smoke is there as well...[:D]

BA looks less detailed on the way you plan the battle...I saw some AAR and I'm not sure I understood how things happen...also looking at this AAR (in spanish).

I realized that I can buy PC:K for 22 euro and upgrade for free to Ostfront....

I'll be back tomorrow morning (in Italy now is evening) and I hope that the night [>:] will give me a good suggestion [X(]

LOL decisions decisions. Yes PC is a more serious, realistic wargame than BA. But there is a lot of serious factors behind the scenes in BA. It depends on if you like the board game/miniatures style of BA or the video game style of PC.

just bought BA + BF from the Slitherine shop with a discounted coupon found somewhere online [:D] for a total of 29€ instead of 43€...

I'm sure I will enjoy it....if not I will jump into PC:O [;)]
