The red and green band shows this tank is not taking orders from his platoon leader but is trying to back out of the LOS of the KT.

So you are experimenting with a TacAI?

And after changes we are about to start this DAR again, with the adjusted TacAI settings and immobilizing aspects having been changed a bit.

We'll start over in a new thread.

Good Hunting.

Is there an indicator to let you know you are hull down?

How would it know? Hull down to who? You could be hull down to my tank and not the one just 10 meters to my left.

So, no there's not.

Good Hunting.

You could know by checking line of sight. What is in front of you may be hull down but not what is to the sides. Some games indicate that. I presume one has to get to ground level to check.

You can check LOS out from your tank but incoming is from more than just ground level. As MR said, you could be hull down to a tank straight ahead but not to the tank on a rise some meters away.

Knowing if you are hull down or not is pretty important. I'd like to add a CM-like indicator to the wishlist...

You are missing the point. This isn't CM. The indicator would show you hull down to one tank and you would blow up from another.

The hulldown status isn't global, it's respective to a target. I'm happy to know the status to and from one target unit.

Not sure I understand the need for the indicator - I just get down to ground level and take a look.

I tink what they mean is a line that goes from the firer to a target or point and tells you if you are hull down to the target or point.  I also think you are over simplifyimg the visual represtation of hull down.  Unless you have more than one spotting point on a tank, some indicator is needed.  Where does the LOS get drawn from on a tank...the center, the gun, the gunner, the commander, etc.  A player may look at a tank and to the gun it looks hull down.  But if the LOS is drawn from another point, you might not be from a game perspective.

That was why CM had the hull down indicator on its LOS tool. IIRC, it was added later for this very reason. I don't think anyone wants you to rebuild CM, but it would be good to learn from BFC's mistakes.

I used this function in CM much. It allows you to 'work' from the commander perspective without going down to ground level. It's a player aid, like a hotkey, and a confirmation too, that the target is hull down by the program as well.

Not a very important feature though.

The original intent of Koios was to make a game from the Company Commander point of view with less feedback to the player from a low level.

Obviously we have changed that somewhat.
