Can someone please explain how the binocular view has been improved?

The Bino View jumps you to the correct viewpoint of the unit selected, and the 10x power makes things look very realistic. One view I often check when making tweaks and checks on weather is the bino view - rain and snow looko great when viewing enemy units --

Just for a reference, is 10x the max bino zoom in PCK? Will we still be able to use the mouse wheel to zoom out a little bit? Does the binocular view lock onto the unit while it is moving during the replay?

The original binocular view was one of the best aspects of PCK. It is very different from the normal camera view in the game. The normal game camera just rotates around a single focus point, but the binocular view actually pivots and zooms from a single point of view.

I have both of the PC games, and I will very likely pay for the new one. When I see all the upcoming new features I get very enthusiastic, but then I read "more realistic “binocular view” " with no real explaination of what that means, I get concerned.

Your mouse can tilt also.

Sorry, yes the camera view locks onto the unit and move with it. and yes when you first tab to unit you get the commanders view, then wheel for the 10x view. I would like to have give a better complarison, but I haven't looked at the original bino view in long long time (more than year maybe). I do recall likeing the improvement to the view though. One thing that it doesn't have now howver is the same function for the enemy view. You can still get the enemy viewpoint, but you cant tab and use the enemy bino.

Thanks

Great news! Thanks! Also, don't think bino view works for enemy units in PCK either.

junk2drive,

You are correct sir, but whether you are rotating left or right, or rotating up or down (also known as tilting), the camera is always pointing to the same point on the ground--always!

In bino view the camera is pointing wherever you point it. It is a free camera without a focal point.

Not sure if this is a bug, but in a Panther tank in Kharkov, you get a muzzle reference: that round thing.

If its a bug, it is quite useful as a reference to turret direction. I wonder if it has been removed?
