PG scenarios part deux...

Post by LoneWulf63 »

I finally dragged out the box with all the PG games and supplements. They are several major hurdles that I will have to overcome before I can get to work. The first one is getting the MM to work on my computer. If I can't get it to work, then I'm dead in the water before I can even get started. The second hurdle that I have to consider is the scale differences between the two games. In PG, units are platoons, map scale is 200 meters per hex, and each turn is 15 minutes. If I were to convert the scenarios straight out, each would be a PCO campaign. I will do some of the larger PG scenarios as PCO campaigns but not all of the PG scenarios. Third hurdle (not really a hurdle) but there are quite a few PG early war scenarios that have German or Russian cavalry units or horse drawn transport. I've mentioned this to Steve (Mobius) but I was told that these units would be hard to represent in a game such as PCO. I will leave it at that. There are also some scenarios that have ski-troops but I could (at least I think I could) modify an exsisting PCO unit to represent them. Of course there are scenarios that have Axis and Soviet Minor countries but there again I could probably modify similar PCO units. As I said in the beginning, I have to get the MM to work before I can move a fraction of inch on this monstrous project and believe me it is humongous. Take care all. Chris.
In loving memory of my wife, Rebecca. 5/2/52 to 7/13/2014. I miss you sweetheart.
