TANKS

Post by Mad Russian »

PCO is primarily a tank game. Although that is still true, it's much more rounded out than it has been in previous games in the series.

The tank vs tank play is some of the best I've ever experienced in gaming. PCO will rock your tank world for you.

I use a wide variety of tactics when fighting with my tanks. I will slowly advance with some while rushing others to the point of contact.

Remember the SOP option. You decide just how aggressive your tanks should be and when. This can make all the difference between them living to fight 30 seconds from now or dying before your eyes.

Good Hunting.

I am setting the SOP quite frequently and not just for tanks. Combined the SOP setting with platoon commandsis one of the good things in this game.

I'd like a command to reverse single tanks a fair distance

Sorry for posting suggestions this way, should I keep them in a single post and just update/edit that post as I think of crap?

The wishlist thread is better for things you would like to see.

Back in the PCK days there was a heated discussion about reversing tanks before we had the withdraw command.

In the orders phase you can order the platoon to withdraw. In the reaction phase you can have a sub unit withdraw, overriding other platoon orders, for a short distance.

You could even use an idea from sztartur's post to do this. If your units are in contact with the enemy and you want one of them to withdraw and not the others set the SOP of that one unit to cautious. It may withdraw.
