Rufty Toughty Italians

Post by Ballan »

Whilst playing the British Western long campaign from 1941 onwards, I came across the Italians. No problem I thought, they ll be cut to pieces, whats more I was defending-how easy can it get. My well dug in infantry was buried in their trenches, my armor was opened like tin cans and my artillery was wiped out totally by counter battery fire......the reason, the Italian heavy naval 305mm guns. Give me the easy Africa Korp anyday

Yes indeed. I recently encountered these during a Russian campaign game. They're no
joke. I don't know whether they were used by
the Italians extensively, and whether or not they saw much use in Russia, but I'm here to tell ya, its a sobering experience to
find yourself bathed in that much HE. I wonder what they were towed around with?
