Pershings (rear shots)

Anybody have a picture of the {rear} of a Pershing tank or ever seen a real one. I just lost one in a PBEM game to a .50 cal MG. It was a rear shot and both hexes where on the same level. I know it's a game but is it physically possible? The range was 5 or 6 hex to the best of my knowledge. Using Panzer Leo's H2H version.

here's a pic of the rear of a Pershing tank...not a lot of places that stick out as "weak spots", but then again I don't know off hand what the armor thickness was here.

That looks like what the Germans were riding in the movie "Battle of the Bulge" and calling them Tigers. Am I seeing that correctly?

Thanks for the pic Ozel. I guess maybe if a .50 round went into the muffler. I am guessing the muffler is dead middle and the towing hook is u-shaped above it and on either side. Looks like the towing hook is always in the up position when not in use.
I guess theoretically a small caliber round could penetrate.

Hey I told you, no one was more surprised than me when that sucker exploded! The rear armor is rated at 32 and the PEN at that range for a .50cal is only about 26-27, but remember that armor rating is an average.

Alot of old movies use existing allied or modern tanks to simulate German armour since very few of them survived the war. Some of the ones I've seen so far have been M41 walker bulldogs to simulate king tigers in the old "Combat" TV series. A leopard I tank to simulate another king tiger in A Bridge Too Far and M60A1 tanks simulating German armour (PzIV's?) in Patton.
