Will Matrix ever return to SPWAW?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Will Matrix ever return to SPWAW?

Post by RyanCrierie »

By that, I don't mean all new MegaCampaigns or scenarios or major new features, but returning to the codebase and releasing a new version that:

1.) Fixes the Artillery Bug
2.) Allows higher resolutions than 800x600 (it's 2023)
3.) And/Or has a Windowed mode (so that you can play it on modern ultrawide monitors) without having to resort to DXWnd

I realize that not every game Matrix has released over the last twenty years (has it been that long? ) can be kept up with modern PCs and resolutions; but I would hope that Matrix has a soft spot for the game that started all this and led to where we are now.

I highly doubt it as it is not economically beneficial to them. There was talk a few years ago about a completely rebuilt game called steel tigers and headed by the 2by3 team under Slitherine production. but that seems to have stalled as they do not have the 'right team in place".
