I will second the motion Roland has put on the floor. We need a specific thread for MCLV.

I finished the first battle, I got a battle with just fifteen turns and I got a DV in just fifteen turns. I noticed there is no ID number for the map in the lower right hand corner, merely a name, nothing else. Per Roland, thus far no problem playng the game.

But later on, if those same South Side Chicago crooks steal one of my (only) two 81mm mortars AGAIN, I want a place to report it.

BTW, no one has volunteered to translate "Big, Bad LeRoy Brown" into German - I am going to attempt to do so myself.

Hello Bing,

I get a 151-turns-scenario when I choose no options for the first battle and I can reproduce it on my computer.
If I choose an option (for example engineers), I get a 15-turn-battle.
The 151 isn't just a spelling error - I used a copy of my saved game-file and decided deliberatley not to occupy the last victory hex.
When I reached turn 21, I decided that there really seems to be 151 turns (unless you occupy all victory hexes).

Kind regards,
Roland

Comrade these drawing can not possibly be wrong they are the work of the state. If it says to use T-34 parts on the T-26 then that is what the glorious state needs. You have a family, then don't argue, just build it to the plans! :D :D

Maybe they finally threw a bone to those players who complain that battles are always one turn short, they just added all those turns into one battle.
thanks, John.

Roland on the run

Post by RolandRahn_MatrixForum »

OK, the T-26/T-34 problem seems to be tracked down:

I copied Scen011.dat from the MCLV folder to the scen-folder of SPWAW 7.1 and to the scen-folder of SPWAW 7.0.
Then I opened it using the editor....
In SPWAW 7.0, the T-26 seems to be correctly represented.
In SPWAW 7.1, the T-26 has the armour of a T-34 m.41 imp.

It might be possible that there is an OOB-conflict when using SPWAW 7.1 with MCLV....

Can anyone else please try to reproduce this?

Copy scen011.dat on a system with SPWAW 7.1 from the MCLV-folder into the scen-folder and open it with the editor?
Look for the T-26 model 33.....
They should look like T-34s.

Now I will try the impossible.....
The reconnissance at radziechow wasn't that easy facing hordes of T-26s....
Facing hordes of T-34s is a real challenge....

Kind regards,
Roland

I don't doubt you got 151 turns, Roland. Lots of different and strange things happen in WAW - keeps us on our toes, it does.

I know what I would do if I started a battle and was facing 151 turns: Close the game and start it over, like right now. The game engine is old, like some of its players. I've put up with a lot worse than what I get in WAW.

There seems to be a viable workaround for this glitch - I would use it, but that is just me.

Mea culpa - MCLV patch works fine, the minor glitches I encountered have other roots

Hi!

I just installed SPWAW using the MCLV-CD.
Result:
The 151 turns were on the old, unpatched MCLV/SPWAW 7.0.
(And the scenario still works fine - by turn 15, all victory hexes should be captured, while the soviet morale should break much earlier, so this isn't really a problem).
The missing locations/node numbers/scenario numbers are also with the original, unpatched MCLV.
Then I copied scen011 into the scen-directory and loaded it with the editor.
Result:
The T-26 m 33 was correctly represented.
Then I updated to SPWAW 7.1.
Result:
The T-26 m 33 is a T-34 with a 45 mm main guns  .
It was still the old MCLV (I didn't use the MCLV-patches).

Then, I looked at approx. 7 or 8 other scenarios - I couldn't find any other T-26 m 33. (The other T-26s, for example m 40, are correctly represented).

Conclusion:
THe MCLV patch works fine, the problem with the T-26/34-Monster seems due to Version 7.1.
Should there be no other scenarios where the T-26 m33 is involved, this is a minor problem (I used a ferengi mind controller at Radziechow and made the Soviet crews moving their tanks to the next German unit and then bailing out - that solved the tank problem :D ).

To prevent any misunderstandings:
MCLV plays great, I am happy with it, I just think that the T-26 m.33-problem sould be mentioned.
I suggest a small patch with modified scenarios where the T-26 m.33 is replaced with another T-26 model.
Otherwise, just use the ferengi mind controller - you activate it by loading a saved game, then choosing "human" for the soviet side and then.....
(Yes, I don't like this thing, too, but I use it only when I encounter very special T-26s...).

Kind regards,
Roland

T-26 m.33 showing as T-34 is OOB error. It is noted and will get fixed.

second patch to LV is on the way. It will contain few adds to campaign and rest of the fixing. It is not Must to do at all, it is something we want to give you ;) I'll start to work on it in this weekend or then in monday.

Fabio's Armor Site also has links to the MC patches. From what I see all of them are there.

Watchtower Patch

Post by Drex »

thanks Guys. I got the patch from Fabio's site which has been re-added to my favorites. It was all there on the forum, all I had to do was look but sometimes I don't have the time to read all the posts and I missed the news that there was a patch for MC-W. I got the ones for MCNA and MCLV.
