Thank you for your concerns, and possible solutions. You threw out an awful lot of info (most of which is still incomprehensible to me LOL) and it took a while to sort it out.

I've digested all what you brought forward, and I gotta agree.
Your way is much safer and damn near as easy as the way me (and everyone before me) handled this type of arrangement.
It's unfortunate that in the past we didn't have the people, tools and expertise to make these changes in a safer manner.
I guess I've got to learn powershell now ......

Oh well, what's done is done.
From now on I will make every effort to use a more secure delivery of adjusted *.exe files.

Thankyou for your comments, I am very happy to be playing SP on my main win10 PC, its been a while since I played the screaming eagles glider Mega battle, Im loving it.

PS: I would of paid £50 at least for this text based mod, and If I was pushed £70, which is cheap for a game this good.

PS2: with powershell you can just read in , then alter byts at differrent points then save, all the fluff is nice, but not nessasary for it to do the job

One idea I just had, was you could put all your mods in one powershell txt file, and choose which one to produce at run time.

jesting aside, I tried a few years ago to get it running in a virtual PC, if i remember right direct draw failed, Have you tried to run it in a Virtual PC successfully ? that would be really good!

No I can't get SPWaW to work correctly at all no matter what I try.

I gave up that ghost and switched to SPWW2 and SPMBT, since these are the only two version of any Steel Panthers series games that has been in development, updated, and fixed for the last 22 plus years. Both work find on Windows 10 and 7 straight out of the box no fuss no muss.

I have MBT & WW2 bought them for the high resolution, but they dont if i remember correctly have mm listed for armour and when you look up the penatration you dont get mm, also the scrren background is not as good just black,

I ripped the graphics out graphics from the depot mod years ago, I just paste into SPWaW , but you can still get it and do that yourself, or just saw you can get the Enh Mod SPWaW 2016 that has everything patched and modded graphics sound artillary bug .

If you update to the comunity 8043d(find it here https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4924101 ) it works fine on win 10. I think spwaw was very authentic feeling, I like all 3 SP but SPWaW is my fav

I would love to see your SPWW2 and SPMBT playtester/scenario & campaign creator skills transfered to WaW.
