Actual Weapons Firing Experience?

I'm a Civilian that has had 2 years of national service which had me sleeping along side (Not all at once):

AG 3 Assault rifle (Swedish AK4 7.62mm - German made - Same manufacturer as mp5's I seem to remember.)

AK 5 Assault rifle (Swedish 5.56mm)

Carl Gustav Grenade Rifle (Was it 84mm? Cant remember - Heavy biped stowpipe with optical sights - 2man team)

Ksp 58 Machinegun (7.62 mg - The one the British used in the 80's - Swedish made)

M45 9mm Submachinegun (Swish K - To some vietnam vets. Used by the Special forces as it works well under water. Very similar to the Egyptian copy "Port Said") (We used to put a stone under the magazine spring to increase the fire rate - Resulting in very frequent jams - We were just kids then.)

Model '85 Law rocket. (Aw does not count i guess since to keep costs down they were loaded with 9mm tracer rounds to simulate the HEAT rounds. - We had to crawl around with 2 of these on our backs along with packs and assault rifle.)

As a true civilian:
Fuse loaded musket (From my days with "The sealed Knot" 15 century re-enactment days in the UK. - Earl Of Northhamptons Dragoons "And the pox on the rebels!!"))
.22 sporting pistols
9mm Glock (Once) and CZ (Rarely)
.44 Colt navy blackpower (Most frequently these days.)

This is where 4 yrs. as a Navy Gunner's Mate pays off. (God knows it didn't give me any marketable skills for the civilan sector.)[:'(]

45 cal. pistol
M-14 rifle (semi-auto)
M-14 rifle (full-auto)
M-14 rifle (as a grenade launcher)
M-60 machinegun (still my fav!)
M-79 grenade lanucher
12 ga. shotgun
50. cal. machinegun

And of course the ships big guns, MK 54 5in. gun mounts.

Sounds like you had either headspace issues or typical Italian bad brass. Some of it would fail at the head and vent the gas straight back in your face.

As for accuracy I can always get less than 3" groups at 100m with mine, this is with using WW2 ammo.

As for the original question....basically any small arm in the game I have fired or owned.

Interesting ones I currently have:
G41(w)
G43 x2
M1941 Johnson
T96 Jap LMG
plus basically every firearm carried by the major players.

As for MG's I've shot most of the more common ones and have frieds who have: MP40, StG44, 1910 Maxim, MG42, etc... Plus being in the Marines I get my hands on most of the new stuff as well.

Have the head space of the bolt checked on that Carcano 6.5. That could be your problem.

I just got rid of it. At the time I would buy a rifle, run a few hundred rounds through it, and then trade it off when I got tired of it.

mhh.. i didn´t fired a single shot in civil live.

but the usual weapons you practise with in the end of the 80ties
in the bundeswehr as:

P1 9mm pistol
UZI 9mm SMG
MG3
G3
handgrenade
panzerfaust

that´s all. i don´t "like" weapons generally..

must admit though i "liked" the G3 rifle and the
shootings were mostly highlights of the service time.

didn´t like the MG btw.

Have fired 12gauge a Ithaca 20 gauge and single bore 10 gauge all in hunting.

Also in germany a long time ago an 30.06 that had been reworked into a sporting rifle while hunting wild boar there.

While in the service i have fired the grease gun which i personally liked. Also used a carbine 30 caliber. While on Okinawa i had the privalage to fire the quad 50 caliber AA platform. A really beautiful piece of equipment.

Also various different pistols such as the 4 inch 44 magnum i owned while in alaska. A 38 i kept at the restuarant i owned behind the counter. Plus had a p38 luger a long time ago. Also the 45 automatic i had while on Okinawa. Had a 9mm Beretta for awhile a zillion years ago which my brother shot his self in the wrist with. Dont ask me how he did this i dont really remembertoo much about it.

I am a civilian but did my military service in the French Army for one year which was quite boring and don't like gun at all:

FAMAS Assault Rifle (5.56mm, Anti-tank grenade, anti-personnal grenade)

FSA Rifle (7.62mm IIRC)

FR-F1 Sniper rifle (7.62mm)

MAC 50 handgun (9mm)

LRAC (69mm Rocket launcher)

Hand grenades offensive and defensive

LMG 7.62mm (don't remember the correct name)

HMG 12.7mm mounted on VAB (Wheel troops carrier vehicle)

Cannon 20mm mounted on AMX 10 PC (tracked HQ vehicle)

Cannon 105mm mounted on MBT AMX-30B2.

Hope I forget nothing but hopefully I think it is enough for the rest of my life.[:D]

Yup, H&K G3 Assault Rifle.

I was doing my national service in the signal corps, and for some reason unknown to me, we had those instead of the smaller AK5 (Swedish version of the FN FNC). Great fun getting in and out of the vehicle with that one.

favorite shooting irons: Ruger Redhawk 44 mag stainless .AWESOMEColt Python 357.very nice nickle plate vent vib S&W 357. allright but not up to the python or redhawk but lighter( the redhawk is a freakin brick).Colt Target 6 22 very accurate ,afordable.
Colt AR-15, very nice, high tech feel
Browning 308 semi-auto rifle.very smooth very shootable worth the considerable price . At least 3 diferent japanese ("sniper"rifles)(dont think so) of 306 bore .the stocks were always in bad shape from shrapnel or replaced.

Ruger model 77 270 nice but not my round my cousin a girl!had a nylon/stainless model 77 308. now that i want.
375 lever action (the make escapes me ,Remington?). nice ,light wieght .Far superior to the 3030, hudge piece of lead.
many shotguns prefer pump to auto 12 gauge best all -around (try BRI sabot slugs if you can find them)
If you thinking of buying one of the larger guns consider going in with a friend on a reloader.every gun has a story ,some you just wouldnt believe.

Standard Finnish Army stuff. Rk-92 (Modified AK-47, better sights and barrel), KvKK-62 (Modified VZ-59? Did I remember the type correctly?) Barrel wear is problem, as it can't be easily replaced. It-KK (Russian NSV, 12,7 mm) Ks66Orak (American LAW, 66mm light AT-rocket). And explosives, mines, antitank obstacles etc. thanks to training as Pioneeri (Combatengineer to english speakers).

There's a gun shop in Marietta, Ga called The BulletStop. At the time 1986(i think), they would let you rent fully automatic submachine guns to fire on their firing range. They had quite a few, the Thompson included. If they are still around you might be able to add to your wish list.

The annual Spring Comdex computer show in Atlanta earlier this month
meant a booming business for the Bulletstop, an indoor firing range in
suburban Marietta where customers can rent firearms and bullets to shoot
anything they please, as long as it is already dead and fits through the
doors. The Bulletstop gave Comdex visitors a chance to vent their
frustrations by venting PC's, printers, hard disks, monitors and manuals
with lead.

Paul LaVista, the owner, said about 10 groups of high-tech types came in
during the Comdex show. "I'm not a computer whiz, but one group brought
in what looked like a hard disk and blasted it," he said. "Another
bunch brought in some kind of technical manual. The thing was enormous,
about 2,000 pages. They rented three machine guns -- an Uzi, an M3
grease gun and a Thompson -- and when they were done it looked like
confetti."

"It must have been quite a show," LaVista said of Comdex. "Doctors and
computer types usually have a lot of pent-up anxiety, but these folks
were dragging when they came in. When they left they were really up.
The range looked like a computer service center after a tornado."

LaVista said PC's were popular targets year-round. "People are frustrated
with them," he said. A year ago seven or eight men carried in a giant
old Hewlett-Packard printer. "I ran an extension cord to it, and just
as it started to whirr and spit out paper, they blasted it," he said.
