This is an open invitation for the members here to sign up for a SPWAW 8.01 Tournament that I will be running over at the WarfareHQ site. I do not have every detail written up yet but here are some basics.

The name of the Tournament will be "Hell on Boots, Hooves, Wheels and Tracks"!

  • Top 1/2 attacker scores move on and top 1/2 defender scores move on
  • Attacker/Defender determined at random by Double Deuce.
I have set up the initial webpage giving some details so if you are interested in checking it out and maybe signing up, go HERE.

Fortunately you can lose in each each of the 1st 3 rounds yet still advance. High raw scores are more important than winning or losing. [;)] Ate least until the final battle [:'(]

Great!

Put me down for wins in the first three rounds, then to throw the fight in the first round against the kurnel in the final!

Yo All,
WB is in it? Tis been a while since I tangled with that cat...my a $ $ has had a bit of time to recover from the beating. Now what's this about a "raw score"? Man, y'all are gonna love playing me as I will beat you but not before 98% of my guys have had a date with the mortician.
Reminds me, anyone ever play an old C64 game called "High Noon"? My brother had it, really cool...a western draw game with much humor built into it but the best was after each round ending draw the mortician would come out and collect the loser. This while the High Noon theme song played throughout the game. Wish they made that for the PC.

Well, until we meet out in front of the saloon, here's a toast to y'all!

BEST WISHES,
STEELER

The competition looks fierce. I feel somewhat like the old gunfighter, looking out on a crowd of hungry youngesters, gunbelts and holsters well oiled, colt revolvers, shining steel in the high noon sun, boots recently polished and those fine texas ten gallon wide brims keeping the glare from their eyes.

I try to look into that shadow beneath those sombreros but I can't see the eyes. The eyes tell me all.

Well, I cleaned the rust off my old six shooter this morning, the creases in my belt match the creases in my face. Both have seen too much sun for far too long.

So I resort to my old reliable philosophy, old age, treachery and cunning will outdo Youth, skill and impetuosity.

I'm waiting for someone to shout "DRAW!"

OK Everyone!

Here are the settings for the Round 1 Scenario.

DATE: 1300 Hours, September 1, 1939
LENGTH: 12 Turns
VISIBILITY: 15
WEATHER: Clear
MAP SIZE: 30x30

DEFENDER: Czechoslovakia (Player 1)
ATTACKER: Poland (Player 2)

All Preferences ON except;
Command and Control: OFF
Reduced Squads: OFF

END DATE: Midnight, March 2, 2004

OBJECTIVE: Points, Points, Points ! ! ! Get as many points as possible. Casualties are irrelevant. The 4 Attackers and the 4 Defenders with the highest score in their battle will advance. This means the losers of a battle can still advance if they get more points than the other players in their group (Attackers or Defenders).

NOTE: This scenario is NOT evenly matched. Worry about getting as many points as you can even if it means sacrificing your men. Its the number of points gained that will carry you to the next round not timidness and soldier's lives spared.

If you have a question please post your questions here or on the WFHQ Forums.

Lol, Bill, I love the gunfighter reference. Very nice imagery.

And, a good luck in advance to everyone in the tourney.

The scenario has been predesigned by me. I will send it out to the player going first (in this case the Czech player) who will play his turn and send it to his opponent. All the details will come in an email you will be getting later today. The match ups are listed on the WFHQ Site HERE.

Foot troops only includes infantry, snipers, MG crews and units like that. Basically no artillery or vehicles. Only soldiers with small arms, rifles, mg's and maybe grenade launchers.

All game files and emails concerning the pairings have gone out to the players except for 1.

VikingNo2 - I need an updated email address from you to send you the information. I am holding the game file from your opponent until I get this.

If anyone has question comments etc, now is the time. The clock is ticking!
