Possible to Edit a saved game?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Possible to Edit a saved game?

Post by UdiHrant »

Is it possible to edit a game that is in progress - for instance reduce or eliminate tanks or troops or blow a bridge?

I'm interested in this in order to combine Steel Panthers with IL2 sessions.

Yes, you can edit a saved game only if it verses the computer. You cannot edit 2 a player game.

To edit a saved human verses computer game you can use Fred's WAW Editor and adjust units as needed. To destroy a vehicle/AVF/Gun - Select a unit then use the Unit data button then just enter zero for "men". This will destroy units. You can use the Tools function to "edit Game data (turns etc..).

Or you can rename the save file to a scenario file and edit terrian/units that way too.
For example - save.020 can be changed to scen.0100 and edited. You can edit map features such as bridges too or change units to be used to blow up a bridge.

Hopes this give you an idea on what to do [:)]

Great news - any idea where I can find this program? I downloaded one from Freds site but it only works with earlier versions of SP.

Thanks.
