paratroop drop problem

Post by philbo »

This is my first post to the forum and I would like to start by saying THANK YOU!!!!! to everyone at Matrix. The job you have done to SPWaW and the MCNA is fantastic.
Now on to the problem I'm having. I started a long WWII campaign(not generated) and I purchased as support troops some paratroopers. During set up I assigned them drop hexes and designated that I wanted them to arrive on turn 4. Turn 4 came and went I you guessed it, no paras!! What if anything did I do wrong????? If anyone needs more info to help me with this problem please let me know.

Thanks
Phil

Except for the pregame drop, all paradrops are approximate turns, they may arrive before or after the turn specified. Not all drops in WWII went off on split second timing.
thanks, John.

To philbo:

i hope you changed the ETA before you assigned the drop hex to the cargo aircrafts and that you clicked the target hex for each unit before choosing them and, by anyway, in the deploying screen you must see the little round parachute icon on the hex you assigned as target, if you don't see it you did some mistake and rimember, afaik, para can be assigned in deploy screen only.

Thanks guys for the quick responses. Mai Tai, I did change the turn before everything and yes I did see the little para symbols for where the drop would be. I think I figured out where I made my mistake. I moved the transports off of the baseline during deployment. I am going to run a few tests to see if that was the problem. Once again thanks to everyone.

Mai Thai and all who tried to help. It was my mistake. I did not change the drop turn before setting up the drop hexes. I went back and did a few tests and sure enough they all worked, even moving the transports off the baseline. The only one that didn't work was not setting the turn of arrival before the drop.
thanks guys for all your help.
