Over 1400 "hits" for Mr Woods' news !!

If anybody has any doubts about SPWAW being a thriving interest, please note over 1400 hits on Michael Woods' recent news of the impending release of the latest patch !!!!![:D]

Yes, the members are finding new ways to ask, "is it here yet?" . [:D]

Seriously, though, I'm a happy camper, as I'm part of the team testing the changes. What amazes ME is the interest that has continued for this classic game as it has developed over the last several years. It is indeed a "battlefield of dreams". [:)]

Are you sure it's not 700 posts by Goblin and Alby and 700 times I checked to see what the news was only to be disappointed?
Feels like it some days.

Yes, the members are finding new ways to ask, "is it here yet?" ... I'm a happy camper, ... What amazes ME is the interest that has continued for this classic game as it has developed over the last several years. It is indeed a "battlefield of dreams". [:)]

Happy holidays.
What is amazing is that SSI did not think to further it themselves: so where is SP4 etc ... revised SP123 etc ...
It appears that aside from the initial success of SP1 that was forseen, from their point of view SP2 and SP3 were sufficient.
I don't know about everyone but there isn't any other similar thing around.
To find an equivalent would force me to open a cardboard wargame!! and in this day and age that is ghastly!!!

Cool avatar, Mindspy!

I recently had the chance to test the changes for Mike. I know, boo-hiss, a tester![:o]

Testing mainly involved looking over things for mistakes, and offering suggestions, since I was committed to another project also. I imagine I was invited because I was fairly skeptical of some of the changes, and will not hesitate to give an honest answer, even if negative.

I was impressed. I not only liked some of the changes, I also liked how Mike was willing to discuss every issue we brought up, including the wish list items the testers added. Despite my initial skepticism, I am pretty pumped about the upcoming update(s). I don't agree with everything, but it is, by far, an improvement to the game.

Now we need to clone Mike so he can put the clone to work full time on the changes...[:'(]

As a side note, the testing team garnered most of their suggestions from member's posts here, and at the Depot. I read the recommendations from the other guys also, and the changes for our wish lists sometimes dated back to requests made in the 8.0 update time period, sometimes further back.

While Mike has final say on all changes, he is quite willing to discuss them rather than just veto or implement a change just for the sake of doing it. This, IMO, means we (the players) are able to give input and be heard, something that is critical. Just thought I would post this for those of you who feel that your input is not being listened to. Rest assured the testers read your posts, and Mike hears about them, then considers them.

Thank you, Goblin. With all of my fanboy-type gushiness (in public), I was questioning some of the changes (in private). I'm very glad that Goblin got involved and realized what was really going on in the so-called Matrix Cabal. [:D]

BTW, happy holidays to all. I'm getting happier by the minute. Got my shopping done, so now it's time to party. [;)] I'd better go before I start singing the Marine Corps Hymn.
