Unable to apply patches

I have downloaded and installed the full 8.20 version of Steel Panthers: World at War, General's Edition. The game runs fine. When I try applying the 8.3 update patch, I get the message to insert disk #1, and the update installer wants me to find the ptfAB.tmp file in my Documents and Settings/Administrator/Local Settings folder, and the ptfAB.tmp file is not in there.

I am running Windows 2000, and the game setup screen shows version 8.2. Any ideas on what is causing this problem? I am wanting to update to version 8.403 so that I can add the Enhanced Mod.

[font="arial"]I have downloaded and installed the free full 8.2 version of SP:WAW, as well as all of the updates, 8.3, 8.4, and 8.403.  With 8.2 installed, the game works fine, but I want to upgrade to 8.403 in order to use the Enhanced mod.  I know that I have to install the patches in order.  I am running Windows 2000 on my computer.  When I try applying the 8.3 update, I get the message that the installer can't find the ptfAB.tmp file in my Documents and Settings/Administrator/Local Settings folder which is where it should be.  Searching my drive for that file turns up nothing.

you do not need to upgrade to 8.403 to use Enhanced, it already has 8.403 mech inside it.
howeever , if you are just wanting to upgrade, sounds like you got a bad 8.3 file upgrade, try redownloading it from maybe another site, or just try same site again.
I know nothing about Win 2000, so that might have something to do with it.
