The numbers?

Post by Adamo »

When checking out a units available weapons you see columns to the right for 'HE', 'AP', 'APCR', 'HEAT' and 'Range'. I know what these all mean but what do the numbers represent? Are they maximum damage numbers, are they amount of 'shots' of that type available?

For instance, a 50mm mortar squad has a value of 50 under the HE column. What does that 50 represent?

The number is the number of shots available for that ammo type for the weapon.

No, the total number of rounds available.

The ROF in the information list is the maximum number of shots/turn, and this is modified by how many you fired in your move and things like moral, movement and such.

For example, you use a mortar with, say HE 40, to fire 5 rounds during your turn, if you look at the listing again it should say HE 35.

The ROF is each turn. If you have a ROF or 6 and fire all six during your turn, you will have a limited number of shots during opportunity fire. There is a rate at which it refreshes, and someone did a test on it. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but IIRC, Use one-third the ROF and it's full at op fire, use more than half and is less. Use all the shots on your turn and you get about half for op fire -- maybe less. It carries from turn to turn as well. The more you use in op fire, the fewer shots the uniot has for your turn.

The number your are refering too, however, is the ammo load out for the weapon. This number reduces each firing, unless you have limited ammo turned OFF.
