1st SS at Kharkov 3/43 would be nice. Manstein, Pz IVGs, Tiger Is, snow...

Maybe a campaign from first attack all the way to the street fight for Kharkov itself in the mud. (if it hasn't already been done)

Just a thought. I did like you small squads scenario for Mt Suribachi, Iwo Jima! Great Idea that one. :)

Yeha!! A new WB's Campaign!!

Post by Gallo Rojo »

Hola Salvaje! Que bueno ver que viene una nueva campaña!

Here are my preferences for a new campaign

1- Kursk sounds great. I vote for the southern pincer, following one of the SS divisions and taking part in Porkorovka battle. Just make it challenging, as you know as you use to.
2- A soviet side one. Bargation in 1944 or the advance to Berlin on 1945.
3- France 1940. I have a storyboard for this one, but I never find the time to design it.
4- Crete.

Kind regards,
Gallo

Gee! Is my face red. Didn't know you were outta the loop but glad you're back as I always look forward to new stuff from you.

North Africa playing the Germans gets my vote. I see alot of enthusiasm on this thread for the eastern front. Personally I avoid those scenarios. A single Red with a Tokarev could beat me.

KURSK! Kursk!

KURSK ! Just part of it, any part you want, like maybe the Southern part or maybe the Northern part?

Welcome back!!

PS. Not to many mines please.:D
I second that, emphatically.:D

Just to get you started, here are the statistics of Tigers taking part in Operation Zitadelle, from "Germany's Tiger Tanks - Tiger I & II: Combat Tactics" by Thomas L. Jentz: There were a total of 133 Tigers available at the start of the offensive - 45 serving with sPzAbt.503, 13 with 13 Kp.SSPzRgt1 (LSSAH), 14 with 8.Kp.SSPzRgt2 (Das Reich), 15 with s.Kp.SSPzRgt3 (Totenkopf), 15 with 13.Kp.PzRgtGD (Großdeutschland), and finally 31 with sPzAbt.505. A total of 19 Tigers arrived as replacements during Operation Zitadelle: 5 for 13.Kp.SSPzRgt1 (LSSAH), and 14 for sPzAbt. 505. From 5 July to 20 July 1943, 13 Tigers were lost (total writeoffs):
4 by sPzAbt.503, 1 by 13.Kp.SSPzRgt1 (LSSAH), 1 by 8.Kp.SSPzRgt2 (Das Reich), 1 by s.Kp.SSPzRgt3 (Totenkopf), and 6 by sPzAbt.505.

If you are really interested, I can send you a day by day operational Tigers status for each unit. Just send me a note...

Welcome back, WB! ;) :D

Post by Wild Bill »

Gentlemen, gentlemen!

What can I say? You've given me great incentive. My oh my, so many of my beloved gaming and personal friends. How wonderful to hear from you and for some new faces anxious for some WB "get some!"

Okay! You got it. I have a pretty good little team formed now and enough folks for the job.

The first battle is being tested even as I write this and more on the way.

Grenadier and I are cooking up a little joint surprise for you that will satisfy the numerous requests for a particular battle in this thread.

I look forward to that one. So will you! ;)

Thanks again. These messages are most encouraging!

Hey Mao!

Been awhile...its in the works, my friend. I'll look forward to your comments afterward on the scenarios and/or campaign. I think I'll release it as a series of scenarios (3) or a small campaign. The player can choose the one he prefers.

That will probably be the way that we go. Not very much on Italy and it was a pain in the butt to the Allies.

Still, so much heroism and hard fighting deserve to be recognized and honored.

Oooh, I'm excited!

I'd love to see an Italian campagn - I always thought it would make a good MC. I'd also love to see a France, 1940 campaign. France '40 has a lot of appeal for me - France and Britain had a lot of cool equipment, and a few times they gave the Germans a scare. Personally, I don't have as much enthusiasm for large battles that are mostly big tanks - I like infantry and combined infantry/armor best.

Just my 2 bits. Hope you enjoy building whatever you settle on - I'm sure I'll enjoy playing it!

Thanks guys. We are almost done. It should be ready in less than a week. We'll be offering it in two formats.

Three separate sequential battles or a campaign of 3-5 battles depending on how you do.

Final touches are being administered by a great team. They include Lars Bielecke, John G, Rick Cloutier (who suddenly had to go fishing...go Tankhead), Fabio Prado, White Rook Barnes, Bruce Hodgman, and Federico Resisti Doveri.

Now that is one fine team!

Tanks at Munda...Flesh and Steel, coming soon.

More 1939/1940 Scenerios

Post by SSgt Matt »

Wild Bill, you have done a fantastic job. My humble suggestions:

The invasion of Poland (done from both the USSR and Germany)

The Fall of France

Invasion of Sicily and Italy (the game lacks a lot of scenerios on this)

Thanks

I am working on a idea (unless you beat me to it) for some of operation market garden dealing with the British 1st AB actually landing in or near Arnhem. How do I get the computer controlled german side to advance and engage the british?

Thanks

Well thanks, fellas! You make warm an old warrior's heart. It is great encouragement!

Adantas, DO IT! Let me know if I can be of any help. I like Matt's ideas for campaigns. I'm writing all these down in a "to do" list. God only knows how long that would take, but I've got plenty to do

To make the Germans do what you want (more or less), you have to have the scenario set to German Assault-UK defend. That is step #1.

#2 Set an objective for EACH German formation.

#3 Set a reaction time for each German formation

#4 Set waypoints for each German formation.

If you do these four things, they should advance when and where you want them.

new campaigns

Post by bigtroutz »

It seems like a pacific late-war island hopping campaign might be fun, although hard to do with a small number of units. The campaign generator doesn't seem to do amphib defense very well and if you play as japanese, doesnt generate amphib defense scenario's much.

One thing that might be fun is to have naval units from BOTH sides present, and perhaps kamikaze units when US naval units are present .

Anyway, between this and a burma campaign, my desire for close-in fighting and trying to win as Japanese might be met.

Count me in when you are looking for play-testers.

Thanks

Well, old BIG FISH ;), that is my favorite theater of operations in WW2, I have to admit.

And your points are valid. Drop me an e-mail and I'll put your name on the list for some future tasks. We still have some things we want to do.
