Lead the SS-Das Reich to victory!

Join the Depot Team as they undertake a desperate mission on Christmas Day, 1944. This small battle is but a sample of the fighting to come.

We, the members of the SP:WAW DEPOT, have put together a present for the SPWAW community. After many discussions, we decided to create a campaign centered around the battle history of the 2nd SS-Panzer Division "Das Reich", covering the period of 1939 to 1945. Over 40 battles have been designed for this campaign by our talented team, each one a true test of the player's abilities. This project required an immense expenditure of time and effort, and we hope that you will enjoy playing it as much as we have enjoyed putting it together.

Looks good. It overwrote Scenario 19. What was that?

Thanks.

To say it with a typical british understatement:
Awesome.
First time that I can't wait for christmas since I lost my faith.

I have several questions:

- Will there be a core force? The scenario displays single-soldier-units that can't be purchased for a core force. So, will it be like the Yangtze-River-Patrol campaign?

- Are the unit values intentional? (139 pts per AD*-unit - that makes a victory difficult)

- 1939? I thought that 2ndSS was formed in 1940 and saw it's first actions in june 1944 on the eastern front - or I'm wrong?

Here are some remarks on the scenario itself (it was a wonderfull gamiong experience)

- Unit AD19 is a forward observer - was that intentionally?

- Unit AI0 is not placed on the map

- The US HQ runs up across a trail that the german cats are likely to use - does the US commander want to commit suicide[:D]?

All in all, thank you very much [&o][&o][&o] for the treaser and many thanks in advance for that campaign [&o][&o][&o] - did I already mention that I can't wait for it?

Thanks for the compliment, Roland!! [:)]

Jess designed the Teaser, and probably forgot to change the date. The FO unit was intentional, as far as I know.

The campaign will have a recommended core of 1 SS Infantry company, an FO, 5 Pz38's (at the start), and around 100 points of misc stuff IIRC. The infantry company is very necessary for most scenarios. Das Reich will feature 42 battles, from 1939 (Mlawa Poland) to the end of the war (Vienna). There are battles for/in Poland, France, Yugoslavia, Operation Barbarossa, Kharkov, Kursk, Operation Zitadelle, Prokhorova, Normandy, Falaise, The Ardenne, Hungary, and Austria, plus a few others.

Again, thanks for the kind words!

Roland,

The game starts off with the SS-VT Regiments that fought in Poland, the Lowlands and Yugoslavia. It then flows into the period where several of the regiments were grouped together into a Division for Barbarossa...and beyond.

So the storyline runs the complete time period of WW2.
