Setting up exit victory square?

Post by LostLT »

Trying to make a scenario in which the human player must exit the map to get victory points. I'm not having much luck at this point. Any tips?

Well, I've put a victory square on the edge of the map.  I've changed it so that it awards points only when units exit from that hex.  However, when I start the scenario to playtest it, that victory square shows up as a square that awards points at the end of the game.  I moved a unit to it, and the unit occupied the square, but the square did not change ownership nor was the unit allowed to exit.

Additionally, how do you move the Retreat (RT) flag for each side?  I've got my weenies running toward a flag the the computer plopped down when I made the map (it's at the far left/west of the map).  It so happens that's kind of toward the enemy, I'd like it to be in the north.

I'm not adverse to doing to legwork to find these answers myself - I've looked in the manual and it doesn't talk much about it.  A nudge in the right direction would be nice :)

Thanks,

you change the retreat hexs using the map editor (remember to save the map)
this could also be why your exit hexs are not acting correctly, because your set up was not saved, or you have other hexs 'stacked' on top of the exit ones.

Okay, figured out how to move the retreat hex.  Also moved all the "stacked" VPs off that hex so now it is sitting alone.  Does the same thing.

Again, if there's a good reference out there, I'm more than happy to read to find the answer myself.

Thanks again,

Yep, exactly.  I've made it an unowned hex, does it need to be owned by the side I want to use it?  Or does the retreat hex have to be co-located with the victory hex?

It needs to be made owned by the side that will use it.

The retreat hex does not need to be located with the exit hex.

You can make more than one exit hex, and they can be for the same or different sides.
