SS delay at Tula 12/15/41

We have been working for almost a month straight getting ready to stop the Russians in there tracks here at Tula. Just as we did last month here when we advanced against them and whipped them bad.

Cold it is so dam cold everything freezes in seconds. You cant even take a decent leak with out havin trouble. And of course the high command forgot that we might be fighting in this kind of cold. They thought all this would be over before the summer was done. Didnt take into account that the Russians are now defending there homeland.

Nothin but snow all around and freezing wind. It is clear and the visability is good for us. 800 and then maybe some perfect for taking out there tanks at distence. I firmy believe today will go well for us and bad for an awful lot of Russians. You can hear them moving around over there but no sight of them as yet. Would have been nice to be home for Christmas this year but too late for that now.

This batle has been pretty lobsided to say the least. The dumb ass Russians came with all there tanks on the extreme edge of the north map. AT least 28 tanks and maybe more came out of the mist all bunched together. It was as if they were scared to come at us by there selfs. We just opened up on them from the get go. The SP ATGs had a field day. They knocked off almost all of them in 15 minutes. Our guys were whooping and hollering so loud every time we hit one that you could hardly hear the explosion of the guns. Thats at least 30 tanks blown to smitherens today while we have lost maybe 2or 3. They have lost at least 100 men while we may have lost 25. Our sig 33 150 or tearing them apart every time a head pops up the heavy roar of them firing can be heard.

It looks like a very one sided battle today. No way they can field any kind of a fighting force after the debacle they pulled today. This battle wont last another 15 minutes im predicting they just wont have the armor or manpower to sustain it much longer. Dam we are good nobody could have stood up to us today. Just too much firepower and a very professional soldier fought here today. I really love these guys!!!

10 days and Christmas will be upon us. Its the time of year you want to be with your loved ones. And even tho I cant be with my family these guys are the next best thing.

How this battle went on for an hour is beyond me. They came at us like a rampaging mob all grouped together for strength. Not a fighting force but an uncontrollable mob no leader just going on sheer hate. We stayed back did not get right into the middle of it and picked them off one at a time. And kept doing it until they began to run. they lost1469 men to our 91 and 170 of those monster tanks are nothing but scrap iron now. We lost two observation vehicles and one tank is all.

Its goining to take some time for them to come at us again. It looked like they never had a plan when they came at us. Like they just hollered go kill the son of bitiches and they came willy nilly hoping to run right over us. I even stood up and took a couple shots with my Luger. Ill tell you I feel a lot better right now for doing so. Dont even know if I hit anything hell they were like 800 feet or so away no sense in takin too big a chance.

Guess we will get new orders sending us to some other God forsaken place for the new year. Just wish it would warm up some I have never been as cold as I am right now. Cant remember it ever being this cold back in my home town of Escweige. Got snow but nothin like this wet miserable stuff were gettin here. My buddy Rak Rokerts isnt complaining about the snow I bet in Lbyia. Wonder how he is doin with the nice warm weather there. Have to write him and send him a picture postcard of this place.
