1600 Hours

We are poised to make a big push against the British just outside the city of Agadabia today. There is a sandstorm raging the wind sounds like a train blowing all last night into today. Has cut visability down to around 650 feet plenty of room for our gunners to cut them to pieces.

A company will be advancing along the northern map edge almost directly at the northern objective area. The center is about 250 feeet south of that. B and C wiill advance close to the southern map area directly at the southern objective area. Once it is taken C will continue on to the rear objective while B swings NE towards the center one. All companys have at least 800 feet across fairly open ground to there objectives.

All equipment is in top working order and the men have been issued extra rations of food and ammo. We are ready to kick the crap out of the British today and send them back to there little island in the north.

Only 4 days before Christmas and very shortly another year will be over in this terrible war. Hope to get back home to Eswiege next year sometime. Sure do miss the folks and my sweetheart Inga. Will miss her cooking a big ham for all of us at home.

Near 40 minutes this battle has raged. We are still making good progress. A CO. in the north has gotten too within 400 feet of there objective. They have suffered some casualtys as they fought there way forward. No where near as many as we had expected tho. No losses to armor so far few men have been lost is all. Not really encountering as many of the enemy as we thought. They have taken out maybe 5 of the enemy tanks as they moved ahead. the resistence in the north no where near as heavy as B CO. has been running into.

C and B CO. have gotten to within 200 feet of the southern objective. They have run into a lot of the British armor as they made there way forward. A lot of the enemys troops are in there way too. Have taken out at least 500 troops and maybe 10 armor in there push to the southern objective. Can count at least ten more tanks are in there path that I can see from my advantge point here. Moving at least 100 to 150 feet every 5 minutes. Heavy resistence by the British to any movement forward by our troops. C has lost a Pz IIIh to artty fire maybe 10 minutes ago plus 2 flame tanks from tank fire as well.

They have been giving up any ground very grudgeling to us. We must fight for any and all gains we make. This battle is way from over and we can expect to lose a lot more of our brave men. We will take our objectives there is no doubt in that but at what cost there is the rub.

Weather is good and the visability is great. The only bad thing is the oppressive heat we have to contend with. And the dam sand that seeps into every opening including your ass. Burns like hell when you have to run like hell to save your life. And the sweat burns your eyes as it runs down your face. Makes it hard to draw a good clear bead on the enemy troops. Dam I love being a soldier and getting to shoot my gun off with no repercussions from the law.

Well the battle goes about the way we expected. We have to dig them out and push hard for every 50 feet. They dont give any ground up with out a hard fight. Lots of armor backed up by a heavy troop concentration.

C and B in the south have taken there objectives and are well established there. B has turned NE and begun there move towards the center objectives. C has moved maybe 150 feet past the southern flags and begun there move towards the rear south objectives. All of a sudden at least 5 tanks appeared out of the haze that lies all over the battle field at this time. Have taken out four of them and the other is in our gunners sight and will soon go to hell.

A has moved to within 50 feet of the northeren objectives and will have them in there control within the next 10 minutes im sure. They too have suddenly had to face at least 7 tanks that came over a small hill maybe 400 feet in front of them. 5 of them met there maker all most instantly as they cleared the small hill.

We have lost at least 100 men so far and that figure may be even higher then that once the roll is taken. Also maybe 8 tanks have been blown to smitherins as well. But im sure the Brits have lost at least 100 tanks today due to the fine shooting of our tank crews.

A will be able to take the north rear objective as soon as they secure the northen one. Which im sure will be in there possesion in the next 15 minutes. Today will be another great victory for the German people. Just too much might and equipment for any other country to have an even chance against our fighting force. We will rule the world soon.

Almost two hours now of non stop fighting. Our boys are still moving on the average of 100 to 150 feet every five minutes. The enemy has suffered a heck of a lot of dead men and tanks being blown clean to hell.

We are now moving on towards the rear objectives. Finding and cleaning out small pockets of resistence as we go. Some of the british are still trying to put up some sort of resistence but to no avail. Our men are running up on some of these hidden troops and just overrunning them with shear hatred and ferocity I have never seen in men before.

It is an ugly sight on the battle field right now as men are being literally butchered. If the troops cant budge them our tanks can they just blow them apart. C CO. in the south has taken half of there rear south objectives and will have the remaining two very shortly. While they were advancing on the rear area they found and destroyed a 75mm gun and one of those pesky 18LB guns as well. Figure they may be able to find some more of there artty and blow them to smitherins as well.

B in the center has taken the center objectives and are moving NE in the hope of hooking up with A in the north and then move on to the rear northern objectives. A is now maybe 300 feet from the rear north objectives and should have them in there posession with in the next half hour.

The enemy has lost well over a 1000 men and very near 100 tanks today a major blow to there efforts here in Lbyia. Our tank gunners have been outstanding taking enemy tanks out with one or two shots. Even there Matildas have not been able to stand up to our tanks today.

The only bad thing for us today was the lack of water. I feel like i could drink the whole dam lake at Garmish in Germany right at this moment. I feel like I have a big cucumber laying in my mouth instead of my tounge. I must before our next battle lay in a big supply of cool clear water. This fight will not last another half hour I dont think. There cant be many more of the enemy left after our heavy shelacking of them today.

Took a little over two hours to whip the Brits this time and a dam hard two hours it was. They put up a brave fight losing 1579 men and 90 tanks.
This had to hurt them and hurt them bad. We lost 244 brave man today along with 13 tanks. More then we can afford at this late date in the war. It becomes harder to get good trained tank crews sent to us to replace what we have lost. I have been trying to get any tank crews that have lost there tanks back to the rear and to safety if possible lately. Saved at least 6 of the tank crews from the tanks that were lost today. This means less we have to ask from the high command in Germany.

As we moved to the rear and got close to the rear objectives we managed to take out 34 of there artty as well. All in all a very good day for us today. We have gotten our orders already and we are to start digging prepared defenses and be ready to delay the British here at Agadabia next month. Once again we will go up against the Lion from the north. With even better results we hope.
