French defend at Agadabia 4/8/41

0600 Hours

Well here we are once again setting up to face the Italians again. At least we have had time off to rest and heal all our wounds if any. Have gotten some upgrades during the down time as well. All HMGs have been changed to Vickers HMG. Should give some more heavy fire power if what I hear about the Vickers is true. Also all 105mm towed have been changed to 105mm Auto cannon sp. All 20mm AA have been upgraded to 25mm AA. All towed 37mm ATG have been changed to laffly w15 47mm SPATG. We are now more fluid and mobile since going to all mech on our company support weapons.

All in all the changes should make us quicker to respond and a lot more fire power. The Italians have already started to bombard us with 75 mm fire so I guess this battle is starting. Vis is a lot less then our last battle only 400 feet today and a heavy haze hangs over everthing. This may or may not help us as the Italians will have to be a alot closer before we will be able to see to shoot. We will not have the benifit of our artty being able to lay into them from a long distance due to the vis. We did not get any mines to lay out as well only what the engineers have with them. They are already beginging to put some mines down in front of there respected companys.

We also got 6 heavy bunkers these have been placed so as to form a solid wall of fire almost dead center of the map backed up by 3 platoons of tanks. If thay come up the center like they have done in the past they are going to be cut to pieces there.

Guys I dont know what happened except the Italians did not want to fight us again after last time. They gave up after only 15 minutes of any kind of fighting. We killed 98 men and took out 2 APC and they quit. We did not lose any men or equipment at all. I dont think we had a man wounded or even graized by a bullet because i dont think they fired a shot at us. If all our battles go like this we might as well go home they dont need us here.

I dont think next month is goin to be that easy for us. We are to move to Mechilli and make a push against the German XV Panzer Grenadiers. They are goin to have some bad ass tanks for us to go up against and they are veterans of Poland,Belgium and France. This will be our toughest fight so far there is no doubt in my mind. There has been some rumors that Rommel will be in command. This is the famous Erwin Rommel A true German Panzer General. I think things are goin to be a lot different here in the desert.

We will be trying to open some kind of route to the north coast. This is vital if we are to ever be in control of Tobruk a major port here in Libya. God help us and keep us from harm.
