Pacific Campaign

Post by Fonebone »

I love this game, but I have a little problem with the Campaign game. I'm playing as the Allies vs AI Japan. I find that the AI seems to pay no attention to the Time at Sea rule. I opened up my campaign and had a look at the AI's units and all its ships had been at sea since turn 1. Maybe not such a big deal. What bothers me more is that the AI will transport an inf unit to invade an island and the escort unit (a CA, I think) will simply remain in the sea zone where it unloaded, never moving--and I can't get rid of it, try as I might to attack it. I also found all the Japanese ships, like the entire Japanese navy, sailing around together en masse, 60+ ships from SS to BB and CV.

My question for more experienced players, if there are any left here, is this: Is the campaign game worth pursuing? I feel like abandoning it due the weirdness above. It's a pretty huge time commitment, but maybe it gets better. Maybe I should be playing the Japanese side instead? What do you guys think?
