GAME STUCK - CONSTANT HOURGLASS - PLEASE HELP

I am enjoying the game immensely and have worked around previous bugs (primarily CTD) by changing prefernces to not show dialog boxes for AI initiated combat (rather than a delay). But now I am well into the Pacific campaign and am stuck. The game hangs transitioning between USSR AI and Japan AI; it just constantly shows the hourglass. Could you please look into this and please provide me a fix so I can finish the game. Please see attached game files (except reports - it was too big even after compression). Thanks.
