In the last post I mentioned being worried that Japan could not repair her carriers in this scenario. Is there some way to do it? I recommend a series of sea zones, very small sea zones leading to Truk or Kure, where at a time expense for travel the repairs could be done.

You're quite overextended.  It would be interesting on where the Aussies will strike.

I'm wondering if a 'Brisbane Line' event will kick in.
You may find Australia prepared to give you all the outback you can swelter in and defend south east Aus. to the death.

The question of how to meet the victory conditions haunts the Japanese High Command. The attack on Australia was opposed by the China Army, and we now feel we are in much the same situation they are. We have not yet met the enemy in any strength, and when we do we will surely be weaker, and in a worse supply situation than they are.

As you both point out there is nothing out here except a chance to grab a supply point that will allow us to grab yet another suplly point. We must count on the Navy to somehow prevail, and to be the deciding factor on the coast.

Musgrave!!
Weipa!!??

Mate, do yourself a BIG favour and leave that country to the crocodiles. [:-] The bauxite deposits at Weipa won't be exploitable until the 1960s and you'll need an industrial and transport infrastructure in place to do so. Most of it was shipped as bulk sea cargo.
Cloncurry is cattle country, so that might ease your supply problems (at least for food) a bit.
But somehow, I don't see the cow cockies of Cloncurry being greatly co-operative with the IJA.
Frankly, that area was (and still is) an open prison for rednecks and religious fundies.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction

I was hoping for some supplies from the northeast penninsula, but you are right there is little enough there.

Remind me again why we invaded this place?
