1.04 almost done

Strategic War in Europe is a grand strategy game where you command one or more of the 25 countries in the game. War, diplomacy, technological progress, recruitment, conquest – this is all in your hands. There are no restrictions to the actions you can perform during your turn: unit movement, purchase, attack, technology investment, reinforcement, all of those can be done at any moment during the turn.

Has the French AI been improved ?

Does the German AI (possibly the AI in general) use Tac Air ?

Are commanders working/(not) assigned as intended at the beginning of scenarios ?

We have worked a little bit on the French AI before the release of Matrix version:

JMass, we are taking a look at this at the moment.

For me when playing Axis in the 1940 scenario (1.03) as soon as the Germans get to the French/Belgian border the French run for the Atlantic Coast totally abandoning any defensive line between the Germans and Paris.

Forgot...please increase text size for netbook screensizes (i use 1024x600) and the default size is just too small.

Anguille, didn't you do it for yourself? (I'm sure somebody asked me how to do it)

What values have you entered there?

Indeed it was me. I like the fact that i can do it myself. However i have to do it after each patch (not really a problem but i guess there are some who don't even ask how to do it). I think i put 3 points to each and its fine.

So I bought this game a few weeks ago and found it to be very hard which never happends to me. Will there be a way in the new mod to turn off the end date. It is almost impossible to get a atomic bomb for any country. Will there be a game or mod that will use this system for the entire war?

Hi,

Changing the end date is very easy.
Go to the folder of the scenario you would like to play (all scenarios are located at /data/scenarios/), open the info.ini file. At the bottom of this file you will find entry about number of turns for this scenario. Just change it and play.

Do you have a link to the instructions. I would really like to make the text more readable on my netbook.

Thanks.

I've been able to fumble around and change everything I need except fo the yellow text unit names underneath the unit icons. Can you tell me which line in the file changes that?

Thanks for your help.

Is there a difference between the Matrix version and the same game bought from somewhere else? What if I purchased the game from Wasteland or from GameStop? Are all these the same games and versions?

Thanks,

Alan

This is the only difference ATM. However with the release of 1.04 (next week probably) all versions will be completely equal.
