allied opponent wanted for #17

Post by bigbaba »

i would play the japanese and will NOT go for auto victory. i find it more realistic to try win by points instead of trying to get an AV as the japanese.

since i like realistic games, my only house rules are:

-no sub invasions.
-no night carrier operations.
-4E bombers at at least 15k.
-no corsairs on carrier decks.

thats it. and i can play several turns per day.

What do you do about Corsairs that arrive on carrier decks as originals or replacement ac for Wildcats?

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

its ok as long as they are transferd on carrier decks by the game engine and not by the player. i meant no corsair squadrans should be transferd into carriers via the player.

as we all know, they were no corsair air groups on US carriers in 1943. i just want to play a realistic game with no japanese "kamikaze-AV strategy" or US corsairs on carriers one year before this happend in the history.

The Bunker Hill will come with 24 F4Us. If you transfer the F4Fs off of the CVEs to a land base, they will upgraded to F4Us.

Yeah and the CVEs that have F4F-4s will become F4U-1s.

As far as I know, if you keep them on the CVEs, they do not upgrade. In my game with Ralf, they didn't upgrade for 4 months or so. As soon as I moved them off to a land base to use the CVEs to transfer somem P-40, they upgraded.

Nope, I had a game using scenario 19 go deep into '43 and they upgraded, if I remember properly.  After all the mind is the 2nd thing that goes....what was the 1st?

Like I said Todd, mine didn't upgrade until I moved them off of the CVEs in August 1943.

I would be game if you are still looking for a player

I have one more HR.

No night bombing using extended range. Night bombing must be done within normal range.

hi jeff,

night bombing from land bases with level bombers is ok and realistic. what i mean are carrier night attacks. if you agree with that, let me know and we have our game.

since i will play the japanese side, this (no carrier night attacks) will be more a disadvantage for me with my 10 carriers early in the game then for you, but since i prefer realism in games, its ok for me.

Night bombing is ok. But not extended distance. I once played a guy who all he did was use bettys to bomb any port with US CVs (at night)...No problem if within normal distance, but extended distance basically means the US CV force can never be in port.

And that kind of game is a joke. Bettys just did not have ability to go Rabual-Australia at night (for that matter B-17s as well).

Normal distance I have no problem with..It is the extended distance....That is all I ask. No extended distance night bombing.
