Origins, WIP, Other games, and a Question

Post by poerr »

Hello - I am a new poster here.

Some things I was thinking about and maybe the Matrix guys could answer too as could some of the rest of you.

First, I am a big fan of UV and WIP is something I am looking forward to in a big way! My wife and I are going to head to Origins from Detroit just to see if I can get WIP, but we can't make it until day 2. I was wondering if the Matrix folks plan to have a large number of WIP on hand so guys like me won't miss it? I have a 56 K modem....so downloading is out of the question!

I have never been to one of these, never been to E3 either. I am looking forward to meeting the developers in person - especially the Matrix guys (not just for WIP - but lets face it that helps!). I was wondering who was looking for what other developers and games there? For my bit, I am interested in checking in on Shrapnel and 82 nd Airborne over Normandy (followup to 101). That one has been in development forever and I have a bad feeling that it is vaporware at this point. Hope to find out at Origins. What about the rest of you?

All the best.

I'm in the same boat as you folks -- can't get there 'til Friday. I hope they're bringing enough copies along; the trip back home will feel even longer if I'm empty-handed. Maybe they'll have a CD burner around, that way they won't lose any sales.

OT
Shrapnel and 82nd Airborne

I have almost lost hope for this game, the beta fourm on the Shrapnel web site has been dead for the last seven months. I heard there is to be some type of demo/movie of the game at Origins.I would very much like hear any first hand reports of this game.

I've never been to Origins, I hate trade shows, several years ago I went to E3, what a zoo, it was like a used car convention meets Hollywood in lost wages (nothing but flash and trash - think star trek convention for used car dealers[:D]).[X(]
