Looks like BB Maryland or Colorado bombarding shore targets.

She's got the old "wicker" tower aft of the funnel! Definately a BB. I'll say Arizonia for patriotic reasons.

USS Colorado or USS Maryland, color photo indicates late WWII, stump cage is one of these ships, two gun turrent. Ron's right, but which one I would think the color scheme would be the determining factor only I don't know which ship had which color scheme. Very likley they were different.

I bet those guys liked the old aft directors better than the refitted ones.

Those are twin turrets. The angle of the shot is making the far turret appear to be part of the near turret.

No, only the Americans had cage masts like the one in the middle of the picture.

Beautiful shot.

I will add that in addition to being a US BB its also bad news for someone on the other end of that gunfire.

It would suck being level with that funnel opening though...

Is that Colorado? Gorgeous. The class looks so.. awkward from the in-game side icon.

It is awkward. This just happens to be the one esthetically pleasing angle. [:)]

For some reason I am sooo not a fan of US BB architecture. The fellas made beautiful CAs, but the BBs are dogs.

It's Maryland after her final refit in '45. Got this off Pry's NavSource site. The pic Brady used is there as well I think.

Tanker Ace's profiles do it justice, no longer looks so awkward. Not much you can do when you mix wicker and hardened steel though. Like Dennis Rodman.[8D]
