SPEED AND FURY - Allied revenge - 9527(J) vs Tomik(A) CHS 155
The purpose of this AAR is clear - any Allied player could see that at least one player faces much worse situation on the battlefield...
If you like victory, see to the complementary AAR from Japan side: SPEED AND FURY - JAPAN
We have quite a lot of HR, no need to comment them - they are in Japanese favor...
My English is horrible - if you do not like it, I will continue in Czech...
I could not describe the first couple of weeks through tears, so just briefly. The unexpected attack on PH cost us three obsolete battleships and entire Pacific Air Force. No surprise that almost no aircraft survived on PHI or Barma. The bypass of PHI was a bold move and rear bases in DEI and Australia were smashed in three weeks. Burma was similar case - no chance stopping steam roller of 5 divisions. Singapur was captured in 1941, what more I have to say. The Japanese divisions were transported to Rangoon and then to Akyab. Burma is lost with the loss of many units...
Pacific bases could not survive massed attacks in the first week and I have now just Pago Pago and Hawaii. Fortunately, I smuggle some units and plenty of supplies to PH.
North Australia could not be defended and invasion to Perth inevitable. My troops are running toward Adelaide pursuing by division and 6 tank regiments. Port Moresby was abandoned, Noumea lost quickly. China is mess, Honan was lost with all hands, but situation is stable.
Allied might navies recognized that air power would be the decisive factor in the war. Unfortunately, we paid a price much higher then expected. PoW and Repulse had no time to form Z Force and attacked enemy near Palembang. Repulse destroy some transports, while PoW met formidable opponent - part of Japanese battlefleet. The battleship fought superbly sinking Nagato; however, stupid admiral decided to repair moderately damaged ship in Singapore. 150 Nells with 800kg pums sent workers in shipyards on holydays. Repulse formed a small force with Dutch Navy and they harassed a bit landing near Kuching, but BKB finished them quickly. Boise with Houston fought bravely against three heavy cruisers sinking Haguro, but they were lost in action.
The battleship Revenge, modern CA Cornwall and old CL were sent to bombard Puerto Princesa to pin down paratroopers before landing of one brigade. Torpedoes from Nells and Bettys turned this operation into disaster with all ships lost in two days including a large part of brigade.
The worst tragedy was absolutely unexpected. Three our mighty CV’s attacked Johnston Island with almost all planes. The AF was closed, no danger. In the afternoon they met KB - entire task force was destroyed including all CV’s, three CA’s and some destroyers.
No need to mention that I have lost almost all transport ships in the area.
There was a strong political pressure to surrender. President Tomik publicly admitted that the continuation of the war is not possible. However, he used next day to eliminate all his opponents in party and government, made a famous “State in the War” speech, and certainly will lead the democracy to the total victory!
Expected enemy activity
Pacific
Pago Pago will be taken soon and then there is just one possible aim - Hawaii. It is very improbable that Hawaii is attacked - all ports are full of mines, the garrison strong and enemy forces in the Pacific are relatively week. We will continue to supply PH as much as possible with supply and troops to be ready. Heavy bombers will bomb Johnston Is. freely.
Australia
The landing in South Australia is expected. It would be difficult to stop two divisions, but ANZAC troops MUST stop them. Unfortunately, the west coast has to be defended as well and the divisions are still under reorganization.
India
The landing in Akyab is the first strategic mistake of my opponent. It close retreat path for many units, but it gives us at least one month. The hurricanes are on the way, AVG ready, British Navy pouring obsolete but still useful ships to Aden each day. Ceylon is quite well defended, attack here would be welcomed.
China
Slow retreat, no chance to stop massed divisions.

PHI
Surprising landing on PHI!!! It could be the second Japanese strategic mistake in one week. My units would starve to death for nothing, now they can and will fight. The landed forces in Lingayen are two week to break the defense, but our splendid PT attacked HUGE convoy of 50+ big AK ships sinking one with huge soldier losses. At least one division I guess. Unidentified TF is heading to San Marcelino, other one is south of Manila. Our only hope is that the enemy forces should be relatively week - there is about 1000AS on PHI now...
China
Three divisions southeast of Sian were attacked by half of Japanese Army in the area and retreated to Sian, which will be lost soon...
Naval warfare
After long time we have not lost any ships, while our ASW TF damaged one sub close to Ceylon and one PG was sunk by mine in Perth

NO HADES, PLEASE [:-]

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 02/05/42
PHI seems to be lost... Our retreat from Naga was stopped by landing in Lucerna. The problem is Witp hardcoded nonsense - my units in Naga are superior to both in Legaspi and Lucerna, but can not move... Stupid... Moreover, Paras attacked the CF. My division repulsed attack, but the retreat towards Manila was stopped. The attack has no chance and it should not repeat, since it violates our HR (blocking retreat path by paras). The hordes of samurais attacked our line in Lingayen and they were stopped again! Quite unexpected result, but forts went down again. Let’s see next day...
Melbourne port was photographed by Jakes from AV off Tasmania. Our bombers attacked her, but no hit was achieved. However, we have still forces to deal with one unescorted ship...

We can re-capture Lucerna, but since the japanese units (even if it is one BF) will stay there for at least one month blocking our retreat to Manila. In fact, this is the worst feature of Witp... However, we have no chance to defend Manila, since our troops were caught in Naga. Enemy occupied Lucerna and moved the units to Manila. We can re-capture Lucerna, but since the japanese units (even if it is one BF) will stay there for at least one month blocking our retreat to Manila. In fact, this is the worst feature of Witp... Fortunately, we have finally positive information from the battlefield. Our troops moved from Nara to Lucena and launched decisive attack. Enemy has no chance to stop us and retreated to tiny base west of Manila called Lamon Bay. The path to Manila was open and our units jumped in. The position of defenders is not bad. The operation “Bread” finished with unexpected result - our cargo ships from PH avoided all patrols and brought about 75k supplies. Unfortunately, our brave units defending Lingayen were forced to Bataan. They will surrender soon.[/font]

Just review the save file and situation. Shocked to find tons of ai level move, terrible, terrible situation, as bad as it could be. Several month before the huge damage could be somehow remedied, not to mention 3 lost carrier, which almost render Pacific Fleet inactive for months to come... We would try to save, what still could be saved...[8|]

This is no regular AAR, but some essay and thought. Hades writes a good AAR, I have read it until I take over, so in his AAR there is everything you ever want to know.
I send cruisers and destroyers to that damned P**** Island and bag 2 aux cruiser of Japs. A small reminder to dear hades that from now on he must give 120% performance or face dire consequence...[:D]
Adelaide falls, no chance to save it, with a CD unit against 8 tank regiments and one IJA division... Would try to save Melbourne though...

We perhaps have to lose an entire fleet of cruisers and destroyers. Tomik sent them to Newzealand, under the teeth of KB and G4M, but without AO following![:@] Now there is only 1500-3000 fuel left in every ship, with KB pursuing (or at least part of it, I am sure of that, otherwise he has no reason to send aux cruisers monitor my ships), and nearest safe base (panama city) half a world away. Just marvelous, wonderful movement, full of strategy insight, which all totally beyond me.[&o]

The situation in Sydney area is not good. Would perhaps lost some valuable troops with it. But cannot afford abandon this city without a fight. If so enemy could use a small garrison to pin us down in Melbourne and his main force could then be sent to, perhaps, India.
The fleet south of Newzealand are making their escape, but the fuel situation is critical. Have to sacriface some DMS and a pair of Dutch cruisers to draw the attenion of IJNAF from them... These ships have no fuel, so cannot make their escape anyway.
There is only 1,500 fule in Christian Church, this is reserved for submarines only. Our ships in Newzealand could only hope to survive as long as possible, and prevent those G4M going otherwhere as long as possible.
He sent an AV following our fleeing TF. I know this ship is not famous for its range. Would see what happens later

After some discussion Hades agree to let me replace 16 cruisers, instead of 12, so I don't have to pay full bill for others stupid move. But the huge loss of carrier and destroyer is of course irreparable.
He suggest that he should be allowed to put Geroge on carrier, I agreed, but ask him to let me put corsair on my carrier, too. He smartly withdraws this suggestion.[:D]
As ASW, I am happy I finally get rid of this stupid problem. Now it's the other side who should suffer it.
Now I should strive to keep 4 to 1 from happening. Though HOW to achieve that I still have no clue. Its already more than 4 to 1, and there is simply no way to defend sydney, 2600VP, and no way to save garrison on Luzon, another perhaps 10,000 vp for Japs side. But, only such a game could bring some fun. To play a normal CHS game as allies, beating those so called experienced guys like killing chickens, is simply no more interesting.

KB as expected appears in strait between two islands of Newzealand and sinks cruiser Java in Christian Church harbor immediately. The cruiser De Rueyter is docked in Dunedin, without fuel. I feel sorry for those beautiful Dutch ships, but now all left for them is sacriface, to buy time for others... And the 4 heavy cruisers damaged yesterday could only sail in low speed, almost out of fuel, so I already write them off. With some lucky we should let others make their escape. It's sad to see so many ships doomed because some commander lack basic ability of judgement. Obviously it never happens to him that better half of IJN would suddenly appear out of Sydney.
To sail them toward Moulbourne is simply suicide. Tasmania has no defence and so be expected to be captured soon. With Tasmania in hand IJNAF Zeros could easily sweep every single fighter of allies out of the sky. Tomik manage to collect 24 P-40 and 24 P-39 in that continent, and there are 3 native kittyhawk squadron, 48 machines. However, it would not be enough to resisit a determined Zero sweep launched within normal range. To disband them in dock is also pointless, because we lack enough AA gun there to make enemy pay a heavy price. Break off to India is impossible, the fleet has to be exposed inside normal range of G4M for 2 days, even sail in full speed. They could never make it. Not to mention most destroyers have only effective range of 2500 to 4000 sm. Now the only sensible solution is let them flee to east. If they escape, then they escape, if not, at least we could draw off KB for perhaps 2 weeks.

So, not counting those Crousers south of NZ, how's the status of your Pacific Fleet? And How's India and the RN?

Some strange thing happened. A bunch of chinese army advance from a contested hex to a japanese hex(though not a base), don't know why this could happen, perhaps some weird mechanism inside the game, perhaps this could explain why GH's chinese army sometimes act strangely...
IN china and Eastern Australia, I hope the situation could be somewhat stabilized. Bah! Dear Hades doesn't know how to utilize his great victory, thanks the god...

CHS Australia Theater is something like Civil War Western Theater, essentially a railroad war. One could of course move his army across country hex, but who could most effectively utilize the railroad becomes master of the field.

He destroyed hapless De Rueyter and Banckert in Dunedin... They are without fuel so cannot go anywhere but bottom... However, KB's hunting for those already dead ducks could help our other ships make their escape... 3 AO detached from Tomeks disastrous expedition against that damed PXXXX Island now rush to meeting our fleeing ships...
More weird things happened... 2 our units WITH fortification still manage to move along railway, and some Empires set on naval search attack enemy TFs IN THE DAYTIME?? All get shot down by Zeros...[:(]
