Can you share some similar screenshots from your games?

I think you might be making a confusion between Dali and Dili. [:)] I am interested in this game because of my WITM40 Project.

Dali sent me some new icons - I think they are much easier on the eyes :)

Axis advance is on the way, and 2 Russian pockets are expected. There are three main armored groups here at play:

16th Army's 14000AV heading to Vilna.
4th Army / 3rd Pz Army's 5400AV about to curve north to head to Vilna.
5th Pz TD's 10300AV heading to Baranowitze.

I am leaning more and more to North-first strategy: throwing main forces between Leningrad and Moscow straight onto Lend-Lease and Ural's aircraft factories and oil resources. See post #103 for screenshots.

I wish there was a way to cut down on all those transports and build some additional bombers... It's same hulls ultimately after all. I think closer to the end of the war poor air defense and speed would not have mattered... :)

Engineers?

Post by Rysyonok »

Puzzling - Axis economy is not producing any engineers or aviation support?

Image

Besides T-26E tanks (captured Soviet machines) and merchant shipyards, engineers and aviation support are the only devices with 0 pool / 0 used so far values...

Does the game assume I don't need any of them yet? No engineers or aviation support have been lost so far...

You are using the Japanese Economy model.......basically, nothing except a/c and tanks gets produced until it is needed somewhere.

It is not the same as using the Allied model that has a certain amount arriving every day/month that allows you to build a pool.

Ah! Thanks :)

Is there any way to give priority to certain devices?

Note appearance of 12" mortars

Why that kind of device get produced in 41? There must be something going wrong in database.

I think those are 120mm mortars, not 12" mortars.

I think this is a known oversight. I thought it was originally discussed in tm.asp?m=1991501 but I wasn't able to find it when I went back to that thread.

Edit: Actually you're the one who spotted this earlier, in this thread, post #60 =)

Soviet Baltic sea sneaks into Helsinki at night, bombarding the shore - and there are no flights.

So hundreds of Axis fighters stacked in Helsinki just hours prior in expectation of Soviet airforce never take off.

Soviet airforce does come, pulverizing 357 Axis planes on the ground.

So - this is it. Game's done.

How can it be possible that kind of success? How many planes attacked? 3000? even then it is an extraordinary rate. Even worse it was at night.

Greetings {Allied Commander's Addendum}

The war against the 3rd reich was won with some degree of expediency,
after an effective strategic bombing campaign

Much of the enemy's energy resource centers were reduced in the first few days
and the enemy air force was placed on the defensive

The campaign was of great amusement and the qualitites and flaws of this mod were
assesed with accuracy

Suggestions for future patches ~

Soviet Aircraft stats should be altered (historically the Yak-1 was considered the best modern soviet fighter due to its impressive maneuvering capability)

Suggestions for Soviet aircraft stats changes ~ (increases and decreases)

Yak 1 - Maneouver 31, Durability 27 Speed 368
Lagg-3 - Maneouver 26, Durability 31 Speed 357
Mig -3 - Maneouver 27, Durability 28 Speed 398

IL-4 - Durability increase to 35

Antiquated Soviet fighters (I-16, I-153, etc) increase maneuver by 5-8 for each plane

----------------------------------------------

Suggestions for Axis aircraft stats changes ~

Axis auxillaries fighters (especially biplanes) increase maneouver by 5-8 for each plane

Otherwise stats appear reasonable

------------------------------------------------

Vehicle device values --> range for advanced axis tanks should be reduced or
range for advanced allied tanks should be increased (such as IS-2, ISU-100, etc)

Otherwise the mod was considered an adequate representation of air combat on the eastern front. Opportunities for land combat were limited due to the premature cessation of hostilities.
