RE: Bore in the Pacific ~
Such is the war so far -->
Allies IJN
Aircraft Lost: 615 900
Ships Lost: 62 9
Strategic Position: The Allied bases connecting the US Coast with Australia have been occupied, the front in China has been Stabilized (and is becoming stronger with the arrival of new units from the west). The IJA will have to strike fast or lose the initiative.
Port Moresby is still defensible, as more than 300 Beauforts have been assembled and readied in Australia to prevent an invasion. In addition there are 200+ US army and Dutch level bombers ready and 250 RAAF Fighters (a mix of Kittykawks and Spitfires). Plus there are Two Full US Fighter groups and plenty of auxilaries (more will arrive as west coast and SEAC units are transferred to Australia (many Political Points spent).
(and new units are still coming online). These will be used in the diversion against Timor and Kendari.
In all Australia is defended by approximately 1050 planes+ reserves (more than 150 beauforts in the pools, none have been lost in action). Any move against Oz now faces 600 front line bombers, 400 fighters, and 500+ replacement airframes. It would be good for the allies if this is attempted, as it would necessitate the use of KB and give opportunities to sink major fleet assets at minimal risk.
India is becoming a fortress and units are preparing for the invasion of Java.
Thus far the allies have achieved a 3:2 kill ratio in aircraft and have lost no ships greater than a destroyer.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/27/42 --> Mayhem in China
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ground combat at 44,37
Japanese Shock attack
Attacking force 15000 troops, 225 guns, 7 vehicles, Assault Value = 318
Defending force 11704 troops, 72 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 329

Vehicles lost 2
Allied ground losses:
9 casualties reported --> 100 to 1 Victory
Strategically this is part of a diversion in an all too predictable flanking maneouvre.
Somewhat irrelavent as Sian, Homan, and Chunking are practically invulnerable.
Delaying actions have been fought to provide time for the non-combatant population to
escape. The central Southern Front may now pull back to defend the capital and the
two other vital industrial cities of Chengtu and Kunming.
Homan now has more than 20,000 supplies and soon the air force may relocate here.
Most probably the opponent will bypass Homan and strike for the capital, meaning
the flanks will be exposed to the firmly entrenched troops at Homan,
ready to cut off the Supply lines to the advancing army or possibly advance further inland.
