Captured Base Repairs

Post by Rekm41 »

Hi all. How long does it take to repair res/oil/manpower at recently captured bases. They are well supplied and have over 100 engineers present. No construction underway and the air/port are 0 damaged?

Thanks

You need to have a large amount of supplies present (10K, iirc) and it cost 1K supply for each point of repair.

Engineers are not necessary for repairs to resources, etc.

An allied player probably doesnt need to expend the supply to repair the facilities due to already having enough. A Japanese player has to balance the cost of 1000 supply per repair point to the need for more resources/oil. There are some good threads on the forum to guide the decision making process as it takes a long time to regain those 1000 supply lost each day in the repair process.

Thanks I will do that. But is it not beneficial for the Japanese player to repair res/oil as they are going to need it? Is the repair process automatic?

Thanks

It depends on a lot of factors... obviously, if you are in (say) 1945, you are not going to get enough supplies/resources from repairing 1 resource point to justify the expenditure of 1000 supplies...

If your new base is well within range of Allied bombers, similarly it will be a losing proposition to keep repairing resources, etc., only to have them bombed out in a turn or two.

EDIT: The repair process is automatic as long as you have set repairs to ON.

General rules of thumb:
1) Dont repair anything after 1942.
2) Dont repair anything that is in range of enemy bombers.
3) Dont repair what you dont need. In stock you need oil, but resources are plentiful so dont repair them. In CHS its the other way so I dont bother to repair oil in CHS.
