Late war (Feb 1944) game looking for Allied opponent

Post by Tupolev »

Hi
Am looking for an Allied opponent for CHS 155 with Andrew's extended map. I'm the Japanese player. This is not a replacement game. I just have a little extra time and would like to explore additional defensive options for Japan.

The game is in February 1944. The Allies started a major offensive into the DEI and have established themselves at Boela, Lautem and Padang. Extremely heavy battles led to the loss of several Allied carriers but Japan lost over 1600 aircraft ... the Allies have also established strong bases in the south Pacific. Rabaul has been effectively neutralised. VP-wise Japan is at 29608 to the Allied 18384.

Settings and houserules as follows:
1. Sub doctrines off
2. Fog of war on
3. Advanced weather on
4. Allied damage control on
5. Historical 1st turn off
6. PDU on
7. Variable setup OFF
8. Dec 7 surprise on
9. Variable replacements +/- 15 days
10. Auto subs off
11. Auto facility expand off
12. Auto airgroup upgrade off
13. Accept air/ground replacements off

House rules
1. Maximum of 6 ships per ASW TF.
2. No more than 6 PT boats per TF, and maximum of 2 PT TFs in a hex.
3. Invasions allowed only on base or beach/dot hexes. No troop invasions by submarines.
4. Japanese Kwantung Army forces and those in China must pay PP to leave the theatre. Allied forces in China and India must also pay PP to leave their respective theatres.
5. 4E bombers must operate from airfield of at least size 4. 4E bombers may not bomb below 10000 feet.
6. B-29s must operate from a minimum size 6 airfield. B-29s may not perform naval attack missions.
7. Maximum of 50 aircraft x airbase size (plus about 10%) except for transiting or damaged aircraft.
8. Allies may not upgrade 2E air units to 4E bombers except the Bolos.
9. No Corsairs on US carriers until 1/44.
10. No Japanese strategic bombing against targets in China. No Allied strategic bombing from China.
11. On map training of air units (includes bombing of empty/bypassed bases) is ok.
12. Keeping air units 2 pilots short of full complement where possible to try and avoid the pilot bug.
13. Gentlemen’s agreement to provide PBEM password to a third party if the need arises (so the game can continue).

Please reply here or PM me if you're interested, thanks. I can usually manage 1-2 turns a day, sometimes more.
