Victory in Poland?

Post by hbrsvl »

Hi-Playing head to head, Germany vs UK & France. It is 1/40, no USSR involvment to date.

My question is-Must Germany occupy each Polish city and overrun each Polish hex to gain the victory? Currently there are no Polish land forces on the board. But 2 cities in northern Poland & one in the south are not occupied by German forces. When I moved some units toward the southern city, 3 Polish units appeared.

Advice, please, as this campaign has lasted much longer than I expected.

Thanks, Hugh Browne

You must take each city with VP (Victory points) and Poland has two.  Look at each city (click on them) and see if one has VPs.  Note, for future reference, that if a country holds a VP city outside its own borders it can survive while that city holds also.  Thus if you capture Bratislava, but Slovakia has "captured" Belgrade then you must take Belgrade too.  This can be interesting.

Chuck-OK, replayed the game & got Warsaw in the 1 Nov. turn. Thanks for the help.

Next question-Denmark-In this game, can Copenhagen only be taken by airborne or amphib assault? There deosn't seem to be a land bridge.

Thanks, Hugh

Yep. Usually done with a landing on the island of Zealand, which is where Copenhagen is.  There is no garrison as such when you get there.

There is a bridge now, literally, from Malmo, in fact they are turning into a dual metroplex as I understand it.
