Campaign?

Post by sage »

What's the campaign like? Is it purely linear? Branching? Dynamic? Is there a operational game that ties the tactical game together, ala XCom?

I'm only a few missions into the campaign (I didn't want to spoil the full release of FS by working my way through the campaign while it still was in beta [:)]), but from what I have seen it is a series of 50-odd linked missions tied together by a interesting, if dense, cyberpunk story.  The maps that you fight on are semi-dynamic - only parts are randomized  - so each mission doesn't play out exactly the same each time.  Some are easy, others are very challenging.

The story isn't dynamic, though.  Just linear - mission 1-2-3-4, etc.  There isn't any base building or anything like what XCOM had, either. It's just a story told via missions.
