ANW Database 2.0 requests

Post by alcazar »

Starting to have a play with the scenario editor in 380rc4. I'm using the ANW2.0 database since I believe that should be the most compliant of the databases (?). There are a couple of things I've come across so far:

- would it be possible to add the AIM-9N and AIM-7E-6 (for the F-4D) to the Ammo Dump [Air Base, US]

- ditto AGM-65 A & B (for the F-5A) to the Ammo Dump [Air Base, Norway]

- would it be possible to have some torpedo-only loadouts for the Orions and Nimrods to cope with limited availability of Harpoons & Sidewinders?

Thanks!

Any chance of another request?

I'd like some early 80's AEW for the Brits. A Shackleton would be ideal, but a quick what-if? would be a viable Nimrod AEW cloned from the MR2 with the weapons & ASW stuff stripped out and replaced with the sensors from the E-2. This was in fact one of the options considered as a Shackleton replacement and could have been in service quickly and at low risk. Instead of course the government chose to pour 4-5 billion quid into a mismanaged high-risk project that failed to deliver, and then had to buy the E-3 after all. Politicians, don't you just love 'em?

I have a suggestion.
City-class Firgates for the Canadians.
Actually the H3 Database dealing with canadian warships ( considered by some to be the best in the world and almost ALWAYS the Command And Control ships for US-Canadian Joint Task Forces ) is, to put it mildly, Quite Crappy. Do your research next time you make a complicated game like this k ;)

Shackleton is certainly in DB2000 in various forms, think most of the Canadian warships are in also when I last took a look.

Im sorry, but its not like its not one of the most advanced warships out there..
And the US using it as their fleet command ships and all most of the time.. just thought it might be a good idea to have a halifax(city) class warship in there.
If its there i haven't found it [:@]

Halifax class is listed in ANW db as FFH 330.

You should be aware though there are compatibility issues for a few of the third party DBs and the scenarios built with for game versions 3.7.3 and onwards. So if you are limited to those games versions then you're pretty much stuck with the ODB and the ANW DB and the limited range of scens for those DBs.
