A quick update from the team...

Post by Erik Rutins »

I wanted to update you all on how things are going as far as fixes. The developers are fixing the vanishing squad icon bug. They also have all the crash logs (keep those coming if you have them) and are going through them to see if they can find and fix the causes. We have not been able to duplicate the sound repetition bug, nor do we find any memory leak in the save/reload so far.

Tweaking of data, including some of the most requested (and already modded) factors is already underway.

We expect to have a beta update for the data changes tomorrow and hopefully an official update with exe fixes by the end of the week, depending on how long it takes the developers to fix the vanishing squad icon issue.

Regards,

- Erik

This game may have required a little more polish before release, but I appreciate the guys here on tech support doing a very good job. I've seen horrid tech support in big game projects, but here it's pleasantly different. Folks here are very cooperative, kudos to you guys.

Thanks for the info update, Erik! Keep up the good work. I do have one request: please make sure that something is done about the 13-16 AP cost for dropping things on the ground. That is horribly broken. It costs only 1 AP to put something into your backpack, or to take out from your pack and put it in your hands, but to take something from your pack and simply drop it costs 13?!! It's beyond absurd, it's downright stupid.

ShadowWarrior, take a look at the constants.xml file. There's a variable called AP_USE_INVENTORY with a current value of 5. The babelfish translation says its "for the change of object in the hands". So I don't know if this is the correct variable. But you could change the 5 to something else and see if it makes a difference.

The thing is that this game was already released about a year ago in other markets (Russia, I think Germany too) so a lot of these issues should have been fixed a long time ago and should not be in this release to begin with.

I'm pretty sure that value is the 5 AP cost to open a container. Or the 1 AP cost to manipulate items in your personal inventory.
