ESM at periscope depth ?

Post by bilbo8888 »

Hi everyone, sorry for my pretty bad english...

i'm returning to HCE after many years, and have a question about ESM by subs. It's seems i have to turn on the radar of my subs at periscope depth to eventually receive ESM report from ennemy radars.

I don't know if i'm clear ... but anyone to explain ESM by subs ?

Thank you

There is no need to have your radar turned on in order to receive ESM reports from your submarines.  Not all submarines have ESM receivers though.

thanks a lot.

Any simple mean ( other than opening the Dbase ... ) to know which subs have ESM gear ? ( i know that all first rate subs must have ( like 688, seawolf or akula ), but for small nations and/or second/third rate subs )

thanks again for the really quick answer, good to know there's still many real Harpoon lovers
